I saw this one in 2001, year of its release, on the Champs Elysées avenue. It's a wonderful french film noir. Darker than you may imagine. It takes place in Marseille, in the south of France, the hoodlum empire. Marseille, the city of crime. Marseille and its traffics, his corrupt politicians. Marseilles and its sharks all over the place.
But Marseilles with its sunshine...
I don't remember very well the story, but I can tell you that Rochdy Zem plays here a cop who investigates on a crime. A sordid crime. And it will be a real incursion in hell for him. He will lose his own soul.
And the audience too...
That's perhaps why this strange and disturbing movie has never been released on DVD. Such a shame...
