Don't let the title throw you

I enjoyed this short story immensely, and found it very moving! But the title has NOTHING to do with it... There was one scene where the title seemed to be forced into the dialogue - I found this even distracting.

But the film itself? Very good! The story of sisters who love each other and are there for each other as they deal with the racism of their time, and the move from Tennessee to Illinois.

This is a story that's been told before, but in my opinion, it could handle being told again.

Great book, short movie

Warning: Spoilers
I see how if you haven't read the book, the movie title may be confusing. The book goes much deeper into the social issues of how darker skinned African Americans were treated differently than lighter skinned African Americans. It's truly a great book and this film is just too short to encompass all of it, however I give it a 10/10 because I feel the acting is very good. It's worth a watch if you plan on reading the book as well. All of the books in the "Dear America" series deal with some part of American history such as the civil war, Native American oppression, and so on. This show is less a movie and more of an extremely short TV episode, but considering it's a series about multiple books it's not like every show can detail every chapter.
