An incredibly charming short
What a lovely animation! How come this isn't more well known?
I guess the title could give the wrong impression, since this short has nothing to do with the homonymous opera by Mozart: The only common element in both works it's the presence of a magical flute, but that's it.
This is a rather whimsical work, with a visual style resembling pencil drawings coming to life, transmiting a marvellous feel of innocence and wonder from beginning to end.
A hidden gem from the National Film Board of Canada, which I discovered almost by accident,. A very happy accident, one could say.
Highly recommended.
8.5/10.
