Foreign Minister Paul-henri Spaak had the film boycotted abroad and it was banned from the Antwerp Film Festival. Nevertheless, 22 copies were released in Belgium alone. The Belgian première was held in the auditorium of the Antwerp Zoo; when it ended, the audience broke spontaneously into the 'Internationale'.
