ACTION HEROES OF THE CLIFFHANGER SERIALS is a straight-up trailer compilation themed around the old action serials of the 1930s to the 1950s, made famous by Republic among other studios. There's some brief narration right at the outset of this documentary but the majority of the running time consists of one trailer played out after another.
And what a collection! I'm far too young to remember these serials contemporaneously, but I have managed to see a few over the years, most notably RADAR MEN FROM THE MOON. These trailers really whet the appetite and, honestly, there wasn't a single film featured that I didn't want to see. Highlights include early Batman and Superman adventures, the likes of Captain Marvel, and all of the crime fighters and singing cowboys that you could ever want. Inevitably the trailers show all of the best action, fights, chases, and cliffhangers, and none of the boring or repetitive bits. It's very favourable as a result.
