I've just watched this movie for the first time (probably due to the bad reviews). After the past few years of movie production, it's a pleasure to be entertained by a good story, talented acting, inventive direction, cool music and beautiful cinematography (plus some of the best car chases to come out of Hollywood for decades).
Fair enough, "it's a remake". But of a film that (this is from a Brit.) is now somewhat dated, and very British. In it's own right this modernest American version is really top class.
Stallone is real suited to the character. Maybe he appears shallow. Maybe he looks uninterested. Maybe he looks a little past it. Maybe he's just playing on his muscle-man image......
But that IS Jack Carter.
