There were too few episodes and then it vanished like a lady in a Disappearing Cabinet. The premise was maybe a bit hackneyed: mother is a professional psychic with all the fairground/seaside trappings who has no powers beyond intuition and experience of life. Son is a hard-headed businessman who just wants to make a buck out of the tealeaf-reading lay - but he's the one with the weird talents. Together they solve mysteries brought to them by their clients, acquaintances or what have you. Hmmm - put like that, it sounds fun, doesn't it? Add in some good actors and seafront locations in England and France and it's even better. In common with Bergerac, it benefited from dealing with people who make their living by the sea, selling their talents or their pottery. What I'm trying to say is, there's hardly an uptight middle-class Brit in sight and the vulgarity of the seaside can be enjoyed. (Our middle class is like your upper class and it hates the seaside - much too democratic!)
