Poor Remake

Weekend Cowgirls (1983)

* 1/2 (out of 4)

Boring Ray Dennis Steckler porno has Debbie Truelove playing a woman named Debbie Truelove who goes around on her motorcycle watching various people have sex before finally jumping into action at the end of the picture. This thing is actually a remake of Steckler's 1976 film TEENAGE DESSERT, which featured a girl going around on roller skates watching people having sex before eventually jumping into the action. Obviously there's not much plot in this film but it's actually not nearly as entertaining as the original film because there's just not any interesting characters or campy moments to keep it entertaining. The biggest problem is that the sex scenes are all rather tame and just not all that entertaining. I'm sure porno fans might enjoy a few of the sequences but for the most part they were poorly filmed and just didn't contain anything interesting. Another negative thing is that the narration is just downright boring with too many lame jokes. The narration wasn't the strongest point of the original film but it at least had a few funny lines. None of the performers are overly interesting and in the end there's really not much of a reason to watch this unless you're going through all the film of the director.

Contrary to the dumb review by perhaps IMDb's most prolific scribbler, this Steckler junker is no remake but merely another of his innumerable loop carriers. It's worthless porn filler that should have ended up in a landfill rather than Alpha Blue Archives' catalog.

RDS regular Debbie Truelove dons a cowboy hat as a sop to the film's title, riding on her motorbike in an Arizona-set tale of female peeping tom-ism, Steckler's favorite gimmick. She visits various homes, supposedly watching folks hump from outside their window. Steckler's done this crap at least a dozen times, the only variation here being motorbike substituted for his fetish of roller skates.

The half dozen anthologized stag films are strictly boring, with an occasional familiar face like Andrea True popping up in them. Final reels have Debbie predictably getting into the action with newly shot orgy footage involving a bald old "rock Star" named Kelly humping on his ranch, sex content beneath contempt.

With a terrible music track (banjo version of "Hold That Tiger" for example), film falls into the unwatchable category. The current of extraneous racism I've detected in many of these Steckler junkers is present here, as Debbie in voice-over declares "Ooh white eyes" during one of her sex scenes, referring backwards to her Native American status, and even the dumber-than-dumb narrator's tag line at the end of the film is insulting: "As they say in American Injun lingo, 'Sayonara'".
