It played at film festivals in New York and at FilmVideo98, a week-long festival at Montecatini, Italy, then won a Best Of Fest Video Award at the Long Island Film Festival in 1998.
It was shot in Manhattan, cunningly disguised to look like Moscow! The script consists entirely of interior scenes and the set was decorated with some genuine Russian items very kindly provided by Nina, the leading actress who plays Inna.
Early on in the casting we tapped into a network of Russian-speaking actors, singers and dancers. One person led to another and they were all really keen to take part, especially as the setting of the story was a lively party involving singing, dancing, making merry and of course drinking vodka!
