This is a clever, "homey," one-reel drama, its simple story and characters appealing strongly to women and children. Edith Peters is beautifully human as the waif. John Sturgeon plays the old farm as if born with hayseed in his hair; Mrs. William Bechtel is also the genuine article as the farmer's wife. - The Moving Picture World, May 8, 1915
