Sex & Nudity

Sex & Nudity: 10/10

There is a scene with a couple after sex you can only see their heads, shoulders and occasionally you can see them touching each other the scene has no nudity but is very sensual

Two girls go "ass to ass" on a double-ended dildo. They do this for a small bag of heroin each. In the uncut version it is much more graphic and explicit.

One scene is in a strip club, dancers are shown topless (briefly shown).

A woman is seen standing in front of a mirror naked from the waist down you see her pubic hair.

A girl performs oral sex for drugs. The act is not shown but her head can be seen going down.

A man's nude bottom is shown and a fully nude women lies on a bed facing him.

(uncut)A lesbian orgy is shown with four women from above as they thrust into each other. it is brief but very graphic and shocking.

A naked man runs toward a nude woman jumps on her and kisses her. She is completely nude.

A couple are shown having sex from above. They lie on their sides and he thrusts from behind. Side-on nudity can be seen (no genitals).

Violence & Gore

Violence & Gore: 8/10

Several people are shot off-screen, and a man is seen covered in blood.

We see two people putting a body in a dumpster.

There's a horrible infected wound on a man's arm. We see him then injecting drugs in the infected wound.

In one brief scene, a woman stabs a man in the hand with a fork and blood pours out.

Lots of scenes where people inject themselves with drugs.

Four people are seen in a montage going through intense pain and suffering; a man's arm is badly infected and has to be amputated (we see the surgical saw cut into his flesh and blood sprays); an elderly woman is given electroshock therapy and she is seen to be in extreme pain; a young woman is forced to perform in a sex show where she shares a double-ended dildo with another woman (she cries and is in pain); a man suffering from drug withdrawal vomits and is shown in agony. A very graphic, disturbing and emotionally intense sequence.

Profanity

Profanity: 8/10

Fuck is used over 30 times. Milder language is frequent.

Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking: 10/10

3 of the 4 main characters in the movie are heroin addicts. The other one is addicted to diet pills (amphetamines/speed), which causes her to hallucinate. This movie shows repeated use of heroin and constant scenes of a woman hallucinating due to the pills she takes.

Several scenes are shown in a bar with other background characters drinking and smoking.

The main focus of this movie is drugs and their effects on people over a period of time, something akin to: "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas" or "Trainspotting".

Frightening/Intense Scenes: 10/10

The drug sequences are very intensely shown.

A scene where 4 gang members are sitting in a car and unexpectedly one is shot and killed, sending the others in a panic.

A festering wound in Harry's arm that is brought on by extensive heroin use is very disturbing also. Harry also injects heroin into the festering wound, which is very graphic.

A woman experiences gloomy and frightening hallucinations, which become worse as the movie continues.

A scene where the woman is given electroshock treatment is also disturbing, as she is in a lot of pain.

Towards the end, there is a montage of all of the main characters in the movie in a state of pain or humiliation. It is extremely intense and explicit and could be one of the most intense endings ever.

The film uses an unique editing style that can be very disturbing or confusing at times.

The movie as a whole is very unsettling and frightening and will most likely disturb most viewers. However, the moral drawn away from this film for most people will be "anti-drug". Therefore, the more disturbing it is, the more effective it is.

The movie is very depressing and emotionally intense. Absolutely not appropriate for children or anyone under at least 17.
