This turgid film is one of the reasons why i think the recent fad of "Quirky" aussie "comedies" simply has got to end. Australians are not really a bunch of sentimentalised ockers, larrikins and louts. There are a few but not all of us are like that. I hope Polson will stick to festivals and not film making because his amateurish mis en scene is an embarrassment to his country's fine pedigree of producing genuine talent. A terrible film from a terrible film maker who is desperately trying to scrape the barrel of a terribly mediocre and overused genre. Hopefully the Siam Sun will set on such a crap genre and take this film with it !
