Sex & Nudity

  • A boy urinates on an empty toilet and the urine spreads on the floor.
  • A teenage girl is taken advantage of by boys.
  • Some sexual suggestive scenes from the teenage girl and the group of boys. The nudity is non-sexual and non-exploitive.
  • A young boy and a teenaged girl are seen bathing together, although it is non-sexual. We see rear nudity on the boy and full frontal and rear nudity on the girl.
  • A 10 year old girl sits up while being bathed by her older sister, exposing her lightly developing breasts. Her 11 year old brother watches her. Very brief view of her pubic region when she is required to stand.

  • Many scenes involve physical bullying and torment.

  • It is strongly implied that a girl is being raped, we see her prevented from leaving a small room/closet and a line of young males waiting to take their turn.

Violence & Gore

  • A boy drowns another by accident and we see the dead boy's corpse.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • A group of boys torment a young boy and his pet rat. They throw it at each other until the young boy ties it to a balloon and flies up the sky symbolising the rat travelling to the moon at peace.
  • A boy drowns another by accident and spends the rest of the film trying to deal with the guilt. This is emotionally distressing. A boy commits suicide by drowning and we see him floating lifeless in the water as the credits roll.
