Because it was trashed by Dutch critics I hesitated a long time to rent The Delivery, but at the end I did and I must say it's not as bad as they say. It's fun. Mindless fun, no more and no less. It's all about two guys who have to bring XTC pills from Holland to Spain. One of them has to leave his wife at the druglord as a deposit and on their way they meet a French terrorist. Roel Reiné (the director) did a terrific job shooting this film in 35 days with a very low budget, but you can't tell, 'cause its action all the way! This film is like reading a comic book. Don't take it too serious (come on, it's no Karakter!) and if you don't you'll see a fun, European road movie. This film deserved more credit from the (dutch) critics (who trash just every Dutch film). My favourite: Guy can't find real love, because he's cursed by a dwarf!A seven out of ten.

The basic premise is ludicrous, but this movie rocks! Nice balance of drama and action, mixed with some outrageous wit and dialog. Great fun. There are two big weaknesses in the story: the requirement that the two guys make stops at certain times in certain out of the way places, and the flawed premise of the wife being held as collateral. Everything else in this movie clicks very well. I thoroughly enjoyed the ending, and yes it was way way over the top, but I like it! Very good acting and directing. I hope to see much more such excellent film making from this director.

This is a very cool thriller, about two boys and a girl having to take a load of XTC pills from the Netherlands to spain. Meanwhile they get involved with some terroirists and a renegade cop. It is a sort of mixture of True Romance meets Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels. CHECK THIS OUT.
Gotta have a sense of humor here!, 6 July 2006 Author: Brett Anderson from United States
I am an American who lived in the Netherlands for almost three years. I enjoyed this movie a lot. It's really pretty silly granted but the main characters are a fun group. I can't help but laugh as I write this review. Just thinking of the movie does that for me. I liked seeing the European countryside. There is something about the way the movie is shot that conjures up so many memories for me. I recommend the movie heartily but please don't take it too seriously or you won't have any fun. By the way I have no idea where they got that cover shot for the DVD/video. It's not from the movie! There is another goof that wasn't mentioned. At one point the rear window of the car they are in gets shot up, a few scenes later it's intact!

I liked the Delivery. But, there are two things special about me. I'm Dutch, and think it's really neat to see a roadmovie being done in Europe (Netherlands, Belgium, France, Spain), places that look familiar to me. Also, I like roadmovies, so that made up for things that this movie did not do so well. The first thing that comes to mind is the Dutch accent some actors in this movie have. But, that may be charming to others. Also, there are some loose ends in the movie, and things that are just too coincidental to be believed. During the movie, I let myself be surprised with what was going to happen, but in the last scene, it again became too unbelievable. In short: if you don't mind the gaps in the story too much, and just want to sit back and enjoy a roadmovie, that's different from most as it is European, this is a nice movie to go see.

I really hoped for the best with this one, but it just didn't happen. Financed at a very non-dutch manner and still looking great, with a style and pace that's very much like Hollywood. What I don't understand is how-with all these great benefits- the director, writer, producer still managed to make this film a completely horrible picture to watch. Filled with bad jokes, cheap nudity and actors that just can't really talk [act] in the english language. Kudo's for pulling it off, but what was this guy thinking!

I thought this movie was a refreshing take on your basic road movie. AND DESPITE what you may read above, the acting is fine, the suspense tight and story well-crafted. Maybe the Dutch viewers who gave this a poor review had greater expectations than I did, the few of us who watched this weren't sure what to expect, but I was certainly pleasantly surprised! If you like quirky or offbeat flicks, check this out!

I'm just filling this comment out, because I couldn't stand the fact that a positive comment was featured on the "complete information" page. I really think this to be the worst movie ever made in my country. This is not only because of the terrible plot, the crappy English and a tension-curve that is as flat as our country. No, it is because this was a serious attempt to make a good action movie, conform the Hollywood standard. It had to be "The European Action Movie of The Year".For this purpose they even hired Fejda van Huet, actor in the Academy Award- winning picture "Karakter", to do the job. I don't mind bad films, I can even enjoy them if they are pretensiousless b- movies. but I can't stand movies that are terrible, but supposed to be a-type movies.

I was looking forward to this movie. I like road trip thrillers. I like sex, drugs, youth, action and a great sound track. And I was especially interested in taking the movie trip across Europe to see if I recognized any of my own travel spots. From the first scene, however, this movie was unwatchable. What was Guy doing driving on the wrong side of the road? What could possibly have blown up the van that rolled gracefully down a shallow grassy incline? If they're such bad drivers, why would they take a delivery job? And that's just the first scene! Not even bad enough to be campy or silly. Just Horrible! Horrible! Horrible! Waste of time. Move on to something... anything else!

Help, I've ended up in cinema hell! What a completely stupid film this is. Really nothing is good about it. Let's spit it out:1) The story is incredibly far-fetched: an anti-EU terrorist group is chasing a bunch of guys who drive around Western Europe carrying a delivery of see-through bags full of xtc pills. And the worst thing is: they are serious about it!2) The level of acting should put great shame on all faces involved. 3) Some money-eyed guy decided to let every one talk English so that the international market would catch on. Ugliest advertising ever! The French and Dutch native tongues talking smart make all but sense and the result is laughable. 4) The soundtrack is totally misplaced and ill-chosen.5) The camera, edit and effects work is supposed to be of some post noir road movie kind of style, but is hardly worth some thing and not meant to accompany this story (read: anti- story).6) Hidde Maas. The hero of Wildschut never fails to convince. A true actor. Usually I would give an extra point just for the sake of him being around. But no, sorry, not this time, I would just not forgive my self...
