Out of patriotism...

This, ladies and gentlemen, is a comedy made in my fatherland ! Belgium!! We don't mean much in the field of cinema, but we DO make movies. Quite a lot, actually... "Zware Jongens" is a very popular ( here at least ) film that totally handles about two famous Belgian comedians. Gaston and Leo made several funny TV shows, stand up acts, quizzes and also a few movies. This was their first one. Their success came to and end when one of them ( Leo ) died in 1993. Unfortunately, he was the funniest one of the duo. In Zware Jongens, both men are criminals. Leo commits fraud and Gaston is a thief. They accidentally get caught together and the police thinks they work together. From then on, the whole movie is a series of hilarious escaping attempts and disguises. Very funny if you're in a light-headed mood. Especially the scenes in the mental institutions are worth a look. The cast list probably won't ring a bell to anyone here, but in Belgium these are all very known and respected actors. It's spoken in a typical Antwerp dialect so that gives some extra charm to the whole picture. If you live in Belgium and you haven't seen it yet ( which isn't very likely ) you should check it out. At least once... To the rest of the world : You're not missing that much...just a bit of fun!
