Watery-themed Playboy program combines old and new footage of the magazine's models for a definitely collectible video cassette. Show's virtue is its wide variety of photographic subjects, numbering over 30 gorgeous gals. Drawback of this approach is the rather abbreviated nature of most segments, as opposed to the more generous four-minute-long vignettes that make up other Playboy tapes.
Video offers a more revealing approach to swimwear and beach frolics than the recent Sports Illustrated bestseller, but main emphasis is on bathtub, shower or just dripping water action.
Most adventurous segment features statuesque Sandra Wild in "Liquid Dreams", an abstract lensing of shadows, forms and silhouettes that approximates vintage experimental films like "Geography of the Body".
Also Impressive is "Mirage", four women cavorting seductively in a desert setting; "The Swimming Pool" in which Dona Speir and others are photographed in slow motion and underwater; and "Hot Wax", carrying the famous "Cool Hand Luke" soapy car wash vignette to its logical conclusion.
