So That's How They Make Doughnuts
Willy Wildcat wanders from home and invades the home of a chicken, where he tangles with Elmer the Great Dane in this Lantz cartoon.
Despite a rather generic 1930s name for a cartoon character, this cartoon is a bit better than the average Lantz offering in this period. Most importantly, there are some good gags here, but more importantly, Willie Wildcat actually has some ginger in his character. Lantz was rather plot-driven in his cartoons in this period, but here, Willie's nasty little kid drives the plot.
The character design is too generic, and might have been anything from a pig to a bear, save for the stub of ears to indicate the species. In the end, Willie Wildcat would be one of a dozen or so characters Lantz' factory would try out until they had some success with Andy Panda, and then a major one with Woody Woodpecker. But this one is a good placeholder.
