Oswald the Rabbit and chicken/inventor Dumb Clucks come up with a mechanical farmhand that looks like a collection of junk in the vague form of an ostrich. Zhey offer it for testing to a farm owner, with typical cartoon disasters.
It's a writing credit for the largely forgotten Charley Bowers, and I suspect he directed, while studio boss Walter Lantz took the credit. Bowers, in his live-action shorts of the late 1920s, invariably offered some bizarre invention, like one to turn eggshells into rubber to reduce breakage. This one is amusing, but like man late Oswalds, he has little to do with the proceedings.
