This remake of a classic 70's series has been considerably revamped for a Nineties audience.The production values are higher and the new CI5 agency is a world-wide agency often working with the local authorities.At first glance the updates are very transatlantic ( one of the new agents bears a strong resemblance to Dynasty heart-throb John James) but thankfully some of the uniquely British flavour has been captured, particularly in those episodes written by the old team. The action sequences are very well staged and quite superior to anything on European television since the early Seventies. Edward Woodward makes a conventional authority figure interesting and likeable and the new team are young and attractive..coping well with the physical action. Costuming and hairdressing are vastly superior to the original series.
