Supposed to be a thriller
ste-hau1 March 2000
This film was supposed to be a thriller-drama. Already from the first frames I saw that this movie was struggling to find a way to make the story tense. Slow-paced, and the few times the story should thrill, we was warned in good time. It was a long tiresome yawn. The actors did a bad job. It was obvious from their manners that they had trouble living their characters. The mother, one minute deep down in sorrow, suddenly makes a long speach as if she proceeded a criminal case or something. The plot consisted merely of some individual scenes that had no connection with each other, and there were no explanations of why those things were in the movie. I gave the vote of 2 because there were some beautiful horses in the picture.

eerily , hauntingly , DULL

caught this movie the other night on fox family channel . appropriate since this flick wouldn't offend even the world's strictest puritan . something would have to happen in order to offend someone . the title is even misleading , it's not the ghost of the mother but rather the ghost that the mother sees. but since she is nuttier than a holiday fruitcake ,she sees more than one ghost , which once again shoots holes in the title . maybe if the apparitions had been scarier , maybe if the acting had been livlier , maybe if someone who was not on prozac had been involved on this project....... well just maybe . good family entertainment doesn't have to be this dull , just look at what disney turns out on a regular basis . avoid this movie unless you're having trouble falling asleep , if that is the case then pull up a pillow and enjoy .

Fun movie for the right person

While this movie may seem dull to many, I enjoyed it quite a bit. If you like films that are action-packed or gory, you'll want to skip this one. However, if car chases and witty, shallow characters leave you a little flat, you might consider watching. I rate it a 7 because I love a ghostly tale set in an autumn forest, and I think the production quality is above average.I wouldn't recommend it for family viewing since it requires patience. I'd rather grab a cup of tea and enjoy it alone or with a friend who is also drawn to the atmosphere.
