This 1997 series was really the beginning of the crossover from documentary to reality - It simply doesn't get enough credit. Typical British banter with attempted professionalism in an admired setting. The series follows the management team and a few select line staff as they take on the daily challenges of operating a hotel. Parings of old hotel grandeur and modern cost-led business model. Full of humour and excitement. It inspired me to embark on my chosen career. I have shared snippets that I've found with my colleagues and they share my excitement and affection. Its a real shame that the full series doesn't seem to be available anywhere.
