The story of the Mancunian Film Company starts in 1927 when John E Blakeley made his first series of 'silents'. His dream of opening a film studio in Manchester became a reality in 1947 when he fulfilled his ambition of 'Northern films for Northern people.' A stalwart of the Mancunian film studios was the great Frank Randle and 'Holidays with Pay' was his 5th film for Mancunian and made in 1948 at Blakeley's Manchester studios and on location in Blackpool.
