Time travel, extraterrestrial life and the history of the universe are all examined by world-renowned British physicist Stephen Hawking in a new DVD out this month.
Originally broadcast on Discovery Channel, the 2010 documentary Stephen Hawking's Universe - known in the USA as Into The Universe with Stephen Hawking - is being brought to DVD under licence by Demand Media.

A festival of Family Guy on the BBC, Stephen Hawking's Universe, Ashes To Ashes and Doctor Who lead this week's TV highlights. And we've got movie highlights too...
This weekend, fans of Family Guy are going to be happier than a pig in whatever a pig likes best. To celebrate and usher in season 8 of the animated comedy series, BBC3 is hosting a weekend of some of the best episodes from past seasons and some new specials. Among the classic eps is Da Boom on Saturday, which we highlighted in our pre-Zombieland 10 Twinkie sightings in films and TV. Specials include Family Guy: The Top 20 Characters, narrated by Chris Addison.
We've got a schedule of the goings-on below, put together with help from Planet Family Guy, where more Family Guy goodness can be found here, as well as in the BBC Three blog here.

The Winter Television Critics' Association press tour begins this week, and M&C will be there with all our favorite TV writers and friends meeting, greeting and listening to panels of talent, showrunners and network honchos, getting the scoop on what's to come. Cannes -- Human evolution, the wonders of outer space and dinosaurs are among the themes Discovery Communications is hoping to sell to international broadcasters at this year's Mipcom market.
The world's leading nonfiction media company announced the launch of three new blue chip documentaries on Monday: "Discovering Ardi," "Stephen Hawking's Universe" and "Last Days of the Dinosaurs."
"Ardi" focuses on the scientific study of a 4.4 million year-old female skeleton that opened a new chapter on human evolution. "Hawking's Universe" (working title) is a three-part documentary series combining CGI, live action, archive and special effects that follows the famous scientist as he explores the cosmos. The "Dinosaurs" series will feature tsunamis, meteor showers, earthquakes and volcanic eruptions leading up to the extinction of the ancient reptiles.
Discovery is looking for third-party broadcasters to air the educational programs.
