Saying you still love Eddie Murphy is the last taboo. But stick with me ...
For all that blogging has, at least partly, grown up around saying the unsayable, that is not the point of what follows. I am not here to defend the intentions behind Norbit, or reclaim The Adventures of Pluto Nash as a landmark in cult cinema. I will, however, gladly state that the star of each is capable of greatness. Yes, I will publicly declare that I still love Eddie Murphy.
Of course, it's a fondness that's been severely tested over the years. But through every Holy Man and Haunted Mansion I've kept faith with the talent of the man. Now, according to the trade papers, he is potentially making a return to comedies made for those who can tie their own shoelaces in a film called The Misadventures of Fluffy, a project that it's said will

Soupy Sales, anti-movie star (that's a good thing)

As a longtime member of the clubhouse-a devotee who still has her vinyl 45 of "Do the Mouse" and "Pachalafaka"-I join my colleague Ken Tucker in saluting the late Soupy Sales, TV innovator.
As a movie critic, meanwhile, I toss a cream pie in the air with gratitude that Soupy knew his medium and stuck to it. Today, most any comic who finds fame on television at some point feels driven to extending that (ugh) brand in a movie. And too often, the results aren't pretty. Or funny. (Hola, Chris Kattan!) I'm not a Salesologist enough to know whether Soupy

This past Thursday, shortly after Michael Jackson’s untimely passing, a sick Internet rumor started that veteran actor Jeff Goldblum had died. His reps were quick to point out that the actor was, in fact, very much alive and well. For any of you doubting Thomases out there, here’s photographic evidence of the actor’s good health, taken just a couple weeks ago:
Of course, as many here in the MTV offices will attest to, Jeff Goldblum is king. He will always be David Cronenberg’s original “Fly” of course, but I love him best for starring alongside a young Laurence Fishburne as a high-class drug dealer in “Deep Cover.” And a designer drug dealer at that. In the honor of the fact that Jeff Goldblum still walks among us, I present to you this little photographic tour through his career.
I’ll admit, my heart skipped a beat

I get it Eddie Murphy. I really do. I understand why you keep making these godawful family movies. They pay the bills, they keep you in the life you've grown accustomed to, and idiots walk up to you on the street and tell you how much they love crap. What I don't understand is why you don't seem to make anyone else. Nobody would begrudge you the one shitty, lowest common denominator family movie a year if say, just every once in awhile, you did something else. I'd even take a Holy Man if that's all you could muster. Sure it's terrible but at least it's something different. No, you cant' even give us that. Instead this summer you're in Imagine That, after doing Meet Dave, Shrek the Third, and Norbit all in quick succession. Sure you did Dreamgirls but that seems now more like an accident than a willful

Originally, Kendra Wilkinson wanted to have her wedding at the Playboy Mansion with Hugh Hefner giving her away. Then in January, E! News reported that for some reason - perhaps realizing that her new in-laws might not like the idea of their son marrying a former concubine at her sugardaddy's pleasure palace - she had decided against having her ceremony at the mansion. Less than a month later, Wilkinson confirmed she would be marrying Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Hank Baskett at the mansion after all, but that her brother, and not the 82 year-old soft-core porn magnate, would be walking her down the aisle."I think it
