Since the beliefs that parents want to instill in their children can vary greatly, we ask that instead of adding your personal opinions about what is right or wrong in a film, that you instead use this feature to help parents make informed viewing decisions by describing the facts of relevant scenes in the title for each one of the different categories: Sex and Nudity, Violence and Gore, Profanity, Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking, and Frightening/Intense Scenes.

Sex & Nudity

Kissing (sometimes passionately in make-out sessions) and sexual innuendo.

Violence & Gore

Marion's throat is slit. A teen is stabbed in the back. Another teen has an ice skate embedded in his face (not shown, but we see a gory aftermath). Charlie's death is implied when Michael is shown coming at him and his bloody corpse is later found in a dumbwaiter with a slit throat (briefly seen). Sarah's leg is slashed, has a dumbwaiter dropped on top of her leg (crushing and breaking it,) and she is repeatedly stabbed in the back (not shown). Will is stabbed in the back. Laurie stabs Michael several times in the chest with a large kitchen knife causing him to fall out of a 2 or 3-story window, supposedly killing him. Michael is hit by a truck, which crashes, pinning him between it and a fallen tree, and he is decapitated with a fire axe, appearing to be dead. All of these scenes are NOT reasonably graphic and contain mild blood or gore.

Profanity

Moderate language. "F**k" and "sh-t" are occasionally used in scenes throughout the film, as well as some mild profanities and one instance of a sexual reference/innuendo.

In this film, we learn that Laurie has become an alcoholic and she is often shown drinking heavily. In one scene at lunch with Will, they drink wine and while he is gone to the bathroom, she orders another drink and jugs both of them down. In another scene, she drinks from a large bottle of vodka. John and Charlie sneak out of school to buy a bottle of wine for a Halloween party, but they do not actually drink it.

The entire film is quite suspenseful and frightening and probably would not be suitable for people under the age of 15.
