There are many theories, ideas or should I say 'schools of thought' on how the world would end. At the height of the Cold War, nuclear annihilation ranks at the very top. While others argue it will not be man who will destroy the world (directly) but - an epidemic of global proportions (most probably from a potent strain of virus - think: I am Legend) or severe climactic change (another ice age perhaps? That would be Day After Tommorow right?) or mechanical uprising (The Terminator, anyone?) or even attack from the outside - conquering aliens (Mars Attacks!) or perhaps an asteroid. And let's not forget zombies!

Inspired by the upcoming release of Roland Emmerich's latest disaster epic 2012, tMF listed down 10 of the most fascinating 'end of the world' movies.

50 Influential Scream Queens: Part 2

Before I launch into the conclusion of my 50 Influential Scream Queens (read part 1 here), please let me remind you that this list is based upon my personal taste, and my personal taste alone. I didn't poll 100 Fango readers, the Fango staff or any other form of 'industry professionals'. It's all opinion, so if you feel I've wronged a certain actress by excluding them from the list, don't leap to brand the entire Fango crew 'vile'. I probably just don't personally find their work to be that influential. Either that or I'm just ignorant to their accomplishments!
25. Mia Farrow: Mia's genre work may be a bit limited, but that doesn't change the fact that Rosemary's Baby will forever be regarded as one of the creepiest films in history. Farrow's portrayal of Rosemary Woodhouse is harrowing to say the least, and will always remain (in my mind) one of the best performances the genre has seen.

Jocelin Donahue ('The House of the Devil', 'The Burrowers')

Jocelin Donahue is a thoughtful actress. Thoughtful films would be her genre: The former Nyu Sociology-History undergrad has starred in period pieces like The Burrowers, a horror-western that was as much about settling the wilderness of the West as about what beasts lurk beneath that harsh terrain. She has been in abstracted short films like The Masquerade and Express 831. Sitting with me in a room at the Four Seasons, draped in the catalog-sharp attire that befits her past career as a model, Jocelin tells me she is drawn to acting because she is fascinated by the formation of identity.
We are here because of a film that radiates identity—Ti West’s The House of the Devil, which is storming the festival circuit from Sheffield, UK to Austin, Texas...
Fixated on the “Satanic Panic” of the early 80s, The House of the Devil devotedly follows the cinematic trends of that era.

Greatest Scream Queens

Debbie Rochon, often described as a scream queen herself, wrote in an article originally published in Gc Magazine that "a true Scream Queen isn't The Perfect Woman. She's sexy, seductive, but most importantly 'attainable' to the average guy. Or so it would seem."
Nastassja Kinski
Films:
To the Devil a Daughter (1976) [1]
Cat People (1982) [2]
The Day the World Ended (2001) [3]
Inland Empire (2006) [4]
Kinski will always be remembered for the iconic photograph shot by Richard Avedon (with a snake coiled around her body) and her role in Paul Schrader's (not so good) remake of Cat People. Needless to say, it was a hit at the box office and Kinski deservingly received a Saturn Award for Best Actress.
Caroline Munro
Films:
The Abominable Dr. Phibes (1971) [5]
Dr. Phibes Rises Again (1972) [6]
Dracula A.D. 1972 [7]
Maniac (1980) [8]
Faceless (1987) [9]
Demons 6 (1989) [10]
Caroline Munro seduced audiences in her Hammer roles in films like Dracula A.D. 1972, but for gore hounds,

Dark Horse shares The Secret with Universal

Variety reports that Universal will turn the Dark Horse comic The Secret into a feature as part of a three-year first-look deal the two companies signed last year. Dark Horse president Mike Richardson, who penned the print version, will produce the film with Scott Stuber.
Scott Milam, who’s currently writing the Mother’S Day remake (see item here) will script the movie. Illustrated by Jason Shawn Alexander and published in 2007 as a four-issue series (plus a trade paperback collection), The Secret is about a high-school prank that goes bad and results in a girl’s disappearance, with her abduction proving to be linked to other horrible crimes. The story throws some curves into the typical youth-chiller scenario, and Richardson tells the trade, “People have a sense what a comic-book movie is, but at Dark Horse, we’re trying to defy some of those cliches and expectations. None of our books are the same.

Jean Claude Van Damme and Vinnie Jones (X-Men: The Last Stand, Snatch) have signed on to star in the action flick Weapon, the first film from the new production company Flagship Films run by producers Alison Semenza and Todd Moyer. Russell Mulcahy is attached to direct.
Van Damme and Jones will star as Derek Chase and Jack Conway, rivals and the world's most talented assassins who form an uneasy alliance in order to take down the head of a DEA-backed drug cartel. Jones’ character is a master sharpshooter while Van Damme's character is skilled with a knife.
Moyer spent a seven-year stint at Dark Horse Comics and served as co-producer on Virus and Time Cop as a producer on Barb Wire. Under his own shingle, No Prisoners Productions, he produced Wing Commander and George and the Dragon.
Mulcahy, whose credits include the first two Highlander movies and Resident Evil: Extinction,
