• Anachronisms: When marking the map indicating the route of Napoleon's soldiers, Sharpe uses a modern-looking, "golf"-sized pencil.
  
  
• Continuity: Harper and Sharpe are standing next to each other on the rafters in the barn during the first big battle. Sharpe is surprised by a dead soldier and swears. Harper then comes into the barn and warns him of the gate.
  
  
• Revealing mistakes: When the French are climbing up the ladders, one British soldier falls over without being shot.
  
  

• Continuity: Hagman is shot in the head, and he falls on his front with his head facing the left. When Harris crawls over to grab his hand one last time, his head is now turned to the right.
