Exclusive Video: The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus Cast Featurette

When the late Heath Ledger died early last year, it was a tragedy felt around the world but especially for Terry Gilliam and the cast and crew of The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus, the film that Ledger was making at the time of his death. The movie, which opens in theaters on December 25th, Christmas Day, is Ledger's last film and posed a difficult problem for director Gilliam. How to finish the film without his star, Ledger, who had only shot a little over half of the movie? Luckily for Gilliam, the plot of the film revolves around a paranormal mirror to an alternate-dimension and Ledger had shot all of his character's scenes in the real world before he passed, so recasting his role for the scenes that take place in the "mirror-world" would make sense story-wise. But it would take more than one person to replace the exceptional young actor ... it would take three,

If there is one thing Hollywood likes, it's a comeback story, and no one seems more poised for that right now than writer-director Troy Duffy. Politics may have sunk his The Boondock Saints initially, but word of mouth and DVD sales proved co-star Billy Connolly right when he said, "The kids will find it! It's rock 'n' roll!"
Now the saints have been resurrected in a sequel, The Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day. In honor of this achievement, we look at six movies that surprisingly failed in theaters in Back from the Dead: Movie Classics that Began as Box-Office Bombs.

Who ordered the beard?
Dinner for Schmucks, a comedy already starring Paul Rudd, Steve Carell and Lucy Punch has just added another name to the list: Zach Galifianakis.
According to Variety, The Hangover funny-dude is on-board to star in a comedy called Dinner for Schmucks, which is set to start filming this fall with intentions of a summer 2010 release.
The film “centers on the most pathetic guest to ever grace one man’s weekly dinner gathering. Galifianakis will portray an assistant manager of a mattress store who is dating Carell’s ex-wife.” It is based off a French film from 1998, Le diner de cons, which was directed and co-written by Francis Veber.
Meet the Parents and Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery director Jay Roach is set to direct the film, which will be co-financed by Paramount, Spyglass and DreamWorks.
It should be some type of comedic feast to watch

Will Ferrell Cameos That Predate 'The Goods: Live Hard, Sell Hard'

One of the reasons to see “The Goods: Live Hard, Sell Hard,” is for the cameo from Will Ferrell, who also produced the new movie through his company, Gary Sanchez Productions. Typically, uncredited appearances like this are also not promoted so they can be a surprise to the audience. Yet Ferrell’s scene, in which he falls to his death from an airplane while wearing an Abe Lincoln costume and fighting off sex toys, can currently be seen on FunnyorDie.com, where it’s been viewed more than 130,000 times.
Hilarious as it is on its own, you might rather skip the sneak peek and watch the scene in the context of the movie. That is, if you think such a cameo makes a movie better as a whole. There are certainly some people out there who find a sudden appearance from a big star to be an unnecessary distraction.

The new child stars of the Disney remake talks about the new film, working with Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and future films
Walt Disney Studios relived their 1975 classic Escape to Witch Mountain with a new modern-day spin in the popular remake Race to Witch Mountain, which hits the shelves on DVD and a Blu-ray/DVD combo set on August 4. This new remake got a revamped cast with Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Carla Gugino and even the grown-up child stars of the original film, Kim Richards and Ike Eisenmann. Of course, the new film also needed new child stars which they got in the wonderful combination of AnnaSophia Robb and Alexander Ludwig, who portray the alien siblings Sara and Seth. I had the chance to speak with Robb and Ludwig over the phone recently about their new film on DVD and Bd, and here's what they had to say.
So, first of all,

Ever since the 2008 San Diego Comic Con panel, mum has been the word on the upcoming remake of Red Sonja, which is being produced by Robert Rodriguez and is starring Rodriguez’s main squeeze, Rose McGowan.
Well now executive producer Joe Gatta (who is also handling the Conan remake) is speaking up about what is going on with Red Sonja and when we can expect the film to hit theaters (apparently the recession has been hitting Hollywood hard as Main Street).
Gatta’s explanation of the non-movement on Red Sonja is that the downturn in the economy has delayed the film from going into production until 2010. As he told Empire Magazine:
“Because of certain issues and the economy, we had to change our plan a bit. It’s frustrating because we thought we’d make the movie last year, before Conan.”
Gatta also confirmed that Red Sonja will be an

Last year a new movie adaptation of Red Sonja was announced, with plans to film it in 2008 and release it sometime this year, as the date on promotional posters indicated.
Sin City director Robert Rodriguez was to produce the project, which will star his fiancee Rose McGowan as the so-called 'she-devil with a sword'.
McGowan is best known from the TV series Charmed and the Rodriguez/Tarantino double feature Grindhouse.
After the remake was announced, all went quiet.
But now executive producer Joe Gatta has explained what is happening with this project and when we can expect to see it hit the big screen.
Gatta said the movie had been delayed and the intention is to film Red Sonja in 2010. The aim is to release it late that same year.
Gatta, who's also producing the Conan remake, told Empire magazine: "Because of certain issues and the economy, we had to change our plan a bit.

The revival of Star Trek has arrived in theaters amidst a continuing trend of re-imagings, reboots, and origin stories. J.J. Abrams has somehow managed to make the science fiction franchise new again through a simple re-telling of how the famous crew was formed. Last weekend, X-Men Origins: Wolverine separated the character from the mutant team to delve into his violent past. Later this month in Terminator Salvation a new trilogy of old, yet futuristic Terminators will terrorize humans again.
Though the movie may have been a timely collision with the zeitgeist, perhaps there’s a more important movement Abrams hadn’t intended to align with. A fashion statement so deeply woven into society that maybe you hadn’t even noticed it. I’m talking, of course, about crazy eyebrows.
Zachary Quinto had to shave his ordinary looking ‘brows to then achieve Spock’s two furrowed examples of crazy eyebrow excellence.

Searching for some New Year reading? Look no further Boxwishers as we are not just your number one stop for movie goodies but also a bastion of literary loveliness. May we present All Work and No Play Makes Jack a Dull Boy. From writer Jack Torrance, this masterpiece of language and form is a timeless classic that will prove popular with all age groups and will be a papery pal for years to come. Either that or it’s just a fantastically funny gag based on the Stephen King book/ Stanley Kubrick horror flick The Shining. It’s probably more the latter.
Fans of the book/ film will remember that writer Jack Torrance (played with bug-eyed menace by Jack Nicholson) takes his family to live at the isolated Overlook Hotel where he struggles to get his creative juices flowing. This writer’s block takes a terrifying form as Jack’s
