- While there aren't any scenes of sex, there are scenes that have a sensual feeling. A major example is the love interest Aissa (Fairuza Balk), as she's introduced belly dancing to the tune of Deep Forest's "Night Bird".
- The breasts of a few female animals (being man-like) are visible but are more animal than human. While humanoid creatures are shown mounting each other, like animals in heat
- A manimal is shown being born, pulled from its manimal mother.
Violence & Gore

- sci-fi and fantasy violence with gore and horror. Not too extreme. Director's cut is much more violent though there is only 4 minutes extra footage it includes all the violent parts

- only scientific drugs but Val Kilmer's character uses them on himself

- the violence can be seen as scary and one of the final scenes is scary because of suspense and what you fear is going to happen

- Speaking of Aissa, it is later revealed that she is a half-human, half-feline hybrid. This may be a bit problematic for some viewers.
