  • Eddie's stage prop is a very large open book with selections of text from various examples of classical fiction projected onto the pages. Selections include "The Proposal" by Anton Chekhov, Shakespeare's "Macbeth" Lewis Carroll's "Jabberwocky" and "The Mayor of Casterbridge" by Thomas Hardy. In all selections of text every word "the" is replaced by "definite article." Hence the title of the video production. For instance: "'Twas brillig, and the slithy toves Did gyre and gimble in the wabe:" is replaced by, "'Twas brillig, and definite article slithy toves Did gyre and gimble in definite article wabe:"
