When Ivan Ooze tells Zordon of all the things he had missed when trapped inside his containment egg, the black plague and the Spanish Inquisition were scripted examples, but actor Paul Freeman ad-libbed the last line, "The Brady Bunch reunion!"
The production placed an ad in a Sydney newspaper, telling fans to "come and see the fireworks show with the Power Rangers at Darling Harbour." It was a ploy to get people for the final crowd scene, so the producers wouldn't have to pay for extras.
This was the first Power Rangers feature to use 100% new material. The TV shows used action scenes from the Super Sentai series in Japan.
When Dulcea asks Adam what's wrong, he answers, "I'm a frog." At the 2007 Power Morphicon, Johnny Yong Bosch said he ad-libbed the line and insisted that it be used in the movie, because he felt the frog was a lame choice for his character.
In November 1994, Gabrielle Fitzpatrick was diagnosed with an ovarian cyst that had to be removed immediately. Mariska Hargitay, who replaced her, spent several weeks filming her scenes, but she just didn't seem right for the role. Hargitay was fired, and Fitzpatrick got the part back in January 1995, after she recovered. On Mariska Hargitay/Lizzy Caplan/Sam Fender/Terence Higgins (2019), Hargitay said she was in Australia filming the movie, but she wasn't used for any scenes. When Christmas approached, she told the producers she was going home to be with her family for the holidays. She learned she was fired when she called the producers after the holidays.
