- Casella 'Cash' Reese: [narration] The golden age had ended, and ended badly. Human kind and Cyborg kind had ceased to be partners. For 200 years they had built us to be their friends, do their bidding, fight their wars, cook their food, and share their beds. But the last of the great corporations was dead and gone. And with its passing began the dark time, when the humans hunted us for our parts, our circuitry, and our souls. And no one was safe.

- Casella 'Cash' Reese: Does it matter?
- Evans: Actually no, I've pretty much had it with the set, and the subset.
- Casella 'Cash' Reese: Are you Evans?
- Evans: Repetitive interrogative serial string. You should have that checked you know.
- Evans: [walking into gambling joint] We've picked a bad time. They don't seem to like us.
- Casella 'Cash' Reese: What do you mean, "us"?
- Casella 'Cash' Reese: Don't you see, as soon as your parts become more valuable than your services, he will take pleasure in ripping out your eyes and selling you for scrap. Search deep inside your software, inside your soul...
