Gianni Amelio, the director of 'Stolen Children', 'Lamerica' will head the Turin Film Festival. The previous director was Nanni Moretti, another Italian film director whose stature has helped Turin hold its own in the face of the languishing Rome Film Festival which came on strong but has since lost some of its own prestigious leaders. Moretti left in order to work on an upcoming film project after two years. Former Venice Film Festival director, Alberto Barbera, still heads the Turin Film Museum which oversees the festival. Emanuela Martini, the chief programmer also remains in place.
