Starman on Blu-Ray
Main Feature (1H 54M 58S)
I am a huge fan of John Carpenter and Jeff Bridges and while I was pretty sure I had seen this movie many years ago I was also confident I had forgotten almost everything about it. Starman appears to adopt many elements from previous movies in the sci-fi genre. At various points in the movie we are treated to short bursts of music which bear more than a little resemblance to the wonderful score from Vangelis in Ridley Scott’s Blade Runner. Near the beginning of the movie Allen is shown walking around in a top and panties which reminded me of

Rap Star 50 Cent - real name Curtis Jackson - is to star alongside Forest Whitaker in another modern retelling of the Jekyll and Hyde story.
Director Abel Ferrara (1993's Body Snatchers, King of New York, Bad Lieutenant) is attached to the project for Glasshouse Pictures and Cheetah Vision Films, according to Variety.
Based on Robert Louis Stevenson's novella Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, it will be reimagined in a contemporary setting and entitled Jekyll and Hyde.
Whitaker and Jackson will play the lead roles of Dr Henry Jekyll and the monstrous Edward Hyde in the tale about a doctor who invents a potion that unleashes his violent alter-ego.
Executive producer Luc Roeg said: "The combination of such formidable talent in front of and behind the camera will turn this wonderful gothic story into a modern classic for a whole new generation."

Abel Ferrara is back to the horror biz with Jekyll and Hyde , a modern take on Robert Louis Stevenson's novel. This is the second adaptation to be announced in the last week , except this version is going to star...Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson.
To be fair, Forest Whitaker - who co-starred in Ferrara's Body Snatchers in the early-'90s - will join 50 Cent. But this is destined to be pretty outrageous. Whitaker will play the good Dr. Jekyll who invents a potion that unleashes his alter ego.
Variety reports Glasshouse Pictures and Cheetah Vision Films are producing.
Ferrara's credits also include Bad Lieutenant and The Addiction .

Just days after we told you about the Red Wagon/Universal adaptation of Robert Louis Stevenson’s The Strange Case Of Dr. Jekyll And Mr. Hyde with Keanu Reeves (more details here), Variety has confirmed a story we first broke here: another Jekyll is on the way with Abel Ferrara (The Driller Killer, 1993's Body Snatchers) at the helm.
Glasshouse Pictures and Vision Films will team with UK producers Independent for Jekyll And Hyde, a "contemporized" version of the tale, with Forest Whitaker (2002's The Twilight Zone, Reposession Mambo) and rapper Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson (Righteous Kill) set to star.
"The combination of such formidable talent in front of and behind the camera will turn this wonderful gothic story into a modern classic for a whole new generation," Luc Roeg, one of the project's executive producers, tells the trade.
This now makes three major Jekyll projects in-development, if you factor in

Fashion Bomb is a unique, new breed of audio mercenary. Containing elements of industrial, metal, rock and goth, they aren’t easily categorized into any one genre of music and instantly arrest the listener with uncompromised style, quality and sonic fluency. Their visual image and presentation is just as striking as their sound, featuring sleek, almost militaristic dark attire, seven inch platform boots and a commanding stage presence that always leaves the crowd screaming for more. Last fall the band signed with Full Effect Records and released their first full-length disc Devils To Some, Angels To Others, and recently they hit the studio to record their sophomore follow-up with Fear Factory’s Ray Herrera.
