After teasing it on social media earlier in the week, U2 has released the full-length “Your Song Saved My Life,” an original song the group and recorded for “Sing 2,” an animated musical set to hit theaters Dec. 22.
Although the new song doesn’t represent any vast jump in genre, U2 fans will recognize it as a departure from the group’s usual style, starting off with a gospel-pop style piano and elevating into orchestral accompaniment before wrapping up with a falsetto chorus and not many guitars in sight.
Several U2 catalog songs, including “Joshua Tree” favorites and “Stuck in a Moment You Can’t Get Out Of,” also appear in the movie, which has Bono taking on a lead voice role for the first time, envisioned as a lion. His character, Clay Calloway, is a legendary rock star who’s lived in seclusion since a tragedy 15 years earlier, and...

The Humanity Bureau has made room in its ranks for Nicolas Cage, according to Deadline, now that the Dog Eat Dog star has signed on for the near-future thriller just as production gears up to begin in British Columbia later this week.
Directed by Rob King, news of the casting coup comes hand-in-hand with confirmation that Sarah Lind, Jakob Davies and Hugh Dillon have also climbed on board.
Set in the not-so-distant future – the year 2030, to be precise – The Humanity Bureau takes place in a world wracked by the devastating effects of climate change. In the fallout, part of the American Midwest slides into a crippling recession, forcing the government to found the titular agency to identify unproductive members of society and banish them to a colony known as New Eden.

Nicolas Cage recently set out to turn the tide of World War II in USS Indianapolis: Men Of Courage and hunt Osama Bin Laden by his lonesome in Larry Charles’ Army Of One. His cinematic do-gooding isn’t over yet, as he’s just signed on to lead a sci-fi thriller about the dangers of global warming. Rob King’s The Humanity Bureau will star Cage as an agent of the titular organization, which has the power to banish “unproductive” members of society from within its non-ravaged confines. As Kross, Cage will be a company man at first, who remains “impartial” while he goes around deeming the worth of others. Luckily, Kross has a change of heart after investigating an appeal by a single mother and her son. He then goes from model employee—who, if you think about it, would be a horrible person in general—to whistleblower. That...

Growing Pains: Armstrong’s Re-hash of Christian Agenda Hardly Rapturous
The end of times is here again with Left Behind, heralded by the presence of Nicolas Cage as a faithless pilot, sputtering about in the continued Humpty Dumpty phase of his grimacing career. For those who don’t know, this is the first chapter in a series of books by Timothy Lahaye, the evangelical Christian author, and was initially made into a cheapie film back in 2000 starring scion of all things ‘common sensical,’ Kirk Cameron. Time and greater talents were unable to aid the material in any discernable sense, however. This latest attempt was helmed by Vic Armstrong (a stunt man whose last notable directorial feature was the 1993 Dolph Lundren film, Army of One), and it seems this type of ideological fantasy is unable to divorce itself from floundering in skimpy productions that compromise technical integrity in favor of its belabored,...

Just when you think you have a handle on Nicolas Cage, something comes along to rock your faith again. Following yesterday's trailer for the thoroughly credible Joe, the first clip has emerged online for the entirely incredible Left Behind. Stunt legend Vic Armstrong (Bond, Indiana Jones, you name it) is the director, and the scene sees Cage as airline pilot Rayford Steele, coping with the aftermath of his wife's departure for Glory. (function(d, s, id) (document, 'script', 'facebook-jssdk'));Post by The Official - Left Behind Movie.Based in Christian beliefs about the End of Days, the Left Behind series by Tim Lahaye and Jerry Jenkins is a wildly successful series of thriller novels (at least among a certain demographic) about humans trying to survive following the pre-apocalyptic Rapture, when the faithful are bodily removed to the safety of Heaven to watch the apocalypse from the good seats. Three movies based on the books,...

Hard to believe just 20 years ago Nicolas Cage was a highly respected star of independent cinema. Now it looks like the former Best Actor Oscar winner will be accepting Kirk Cameron’s sloppy seconds.
At least he will be if negotiations work out for Cage to star in a reboot of the apocalyptic Christian Left Behind series.
It’s kind of comforting to know that in this age of unnecessary Hollywood reboots, even evangelical Christian cinema isn’t immune to resurrecting a franchise for the sake of the almighty dollar. Would they call it a reboot, or would they consider it Left Behind getting born again?
Either way, The Hollywood Reporter’s Heat Vision Blog broke the news that legendary Hollywood stuntman Vic Armstrong is negotiating to direct a $15 million big screen reboot of the mega-successful Left Behind book series that already spawned a less successful film series starring Kirk Cameron.

Dolph Lundgren’s set to star in the action sci-fi horror mash-up, Battle Of The Damned. And once again, his character has an action hero name to die for...
Although hulking man of action Dolph Lundgren’s been busily making lots of films since his glory days in the 80s and 90s, it was great to see him appear in The Expendables, 2010’s explosive box of macho fireworks which starred too many other geek favourites to list here.
With The Expendables 2 now in post production, Lundgren’s all set to start shooting on his next film - a sci-fi horror action mash-up called Battle Of The Damned. News of this film actually seeped out a couple of weeks ago, and I’m ashamed to say it slipped right past me - a terrible oversight, it turns out, since the its premise sounds gloriously daft.

Leading up to one of the most well-known stunts in cinema history, Indiana Jones –- galloping atop a stolen horse –- flies alongside a Nazi tank in an attempt to rescue his kidnapped father. As the tank descends into a canyon, Indy detours up the ridge alongside it, rises to his feet and leaps off of the horse onto the speeding tank below, proceeding to shoot, stab and fistfight a whole bunch of Nazis atop two moving vehicles.
That leap, a highlight from "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade," is widely considered one of the greatest stunts ever. But Harrison Ford didn't do it. It was Vic Armstrong, the most prolific stuntman of all time, according to the "Guinness Book of World Records."
(Scroll Down For Photos)
Armstrong planned the stunt for weeks, scouting the scene's desert location in Almeria, Spain, laying rocks along the ridge to keep the horse...
