The building on fire at the start of the episode is Guys Cliffe House in Warwick. Unfortunately the pyrotechnics were too powerful and gutted the famous landmar.

This adaptation of the short story "The Adventure of the Sussex Vampire," isn't looked upon very favourably by the fans of this Sherlock Holmes TV series. The episode has been heavily criticised for failing to follow even the rudiments of the original story.
