Vampires Pick on the Wrong Gangsters in Dead Cert

Looking lean 'n mean at this year's American Film Market (kicking off officially next week) is the UK horror film Dead Cert .
In the tradition of Innocent Blood , the film fuses the gangster and vampire genre under the direction of Steve Lawson. The plot crunch goes like this: A gang of tough London gangsters get more than they bargained for when a group of businessmen make an offer to buy their club, the Inferno. They turn out to be nothing less than Vampires wanting their land back and turn viciously on the gangsters when their demands are not met.
Leading the cast is Janet Montgomery who hit us with a one-two punch this fall in The Hills Run Red and Wrong Turn 3: Left for Dead . Dexter Fletcher ( Doom ) also stars alongside Craig Fairbass ( White Noise 2 ) and Billy

Debbie Rochon, often described as a scream queen herself, wrote in an article originally published in Gc Magazine that "a true Scream Queen isn't The Perfect Woman. She's sexy, seductive, but most importantly 'attainable' to the average guy. Or so it would seem."
Nastassja Kinski
Films:
To the Devil a Daughter (1976) [1]
Cat People (1982) [2]
The Day the World Ended (2001) [3]
Inland Empire (2006) [4]
Kinski will always be remembered for the iconic photograph shot by Richard Avedon (with a snake coiled around her body) and her role in Paul Schrader's (not so good) remake of Cat People. Needless to say, it was a hit at the box office and Kinski deservingly received a Saturn Award for Best Actress.
Caroline Munro
Films:
The Abominable Dr. Phibes (1971) [5]
Dr. Phibes Rises Again (1972) [6]
Dracula A.D. 1972 [7]
Maniac (1980) [8]
Faceless (1987) [9]
Demons 6 (1989) [10]
Caroline Munro seduced audiences in her Hammer roles in films like Dracula A.D. 1972, but for gore hounds,

John Landis Taps Simon Pegg for Burke and Hare

Word from Dread Central is that John Landis is returning to horror. I'm going to give everyone a second to finish howling with delight. No, that was not a werewolf joke.......yes it was. Mr. Landis is apparently set to tackle the world of true crime with his new film Burke and Hare. The title of the film refers to William Burke and William Hare who were Irish immigrants named as the killers of at least 17 people between 1827-1828 in Edinburgh, Scotland(a.k.a The West Port Murders). As if that weren't bastardly enough, turns out these two necro-entrepreneurs ended up selling the bodies to the Edinburgh medical college for dissection. This news is made even juicier by the supplemental announcement that Shaun of the Dead funnyman Simon Pegg has signed on to the project.
I love Simon Pegg. The guy cracks me up. Shaun of the Dead remains one of my favorite romantic comedies of

'Shaun of the Dead' Star to Sell Dead

After a lengthy hiatus from features, it appears that legendary director John Landis has a new project lined up. One thing’s for sure, it sounds more in line with An American Werewolf in London than his more comedic works, like National Lampoon’s Animal House.
Landis, whose last theatrical release was the 1998 Susan’s Plan, is working on a black comedy called Burke and Hare, based on the real-life West Port murders. According to /Film, Shaun of the Dead and Star Trek’s Simon Pegg will star, presumably as either William Burke or William Hare.
Between 1827 and 1828, the murders of 17 individuals were attributed to Burke and Hare, both Irish immigrants. They supposedly "burked" — a term that would come to mean purposefully smothering — their victims, and sold the bodies to Edinburgh Medical College for dissection. After initially selling the body of a dead man, Burke and Hare suffocated ill or

Vampire Con '09: Children Of The Night at The Vampirella Ball

Ever see that Tales From The Crypt where the guy in the crowded bar realizes he's the only human in a pub full of vampires? That's what the Vampirella's Ball was like, except it was fun, not scary, because here, sultry female vamps outnumbered male ones four to one.
The theory that you can party all night, sleep all day, never grow old and never die because it's fun to be a vampire was put to the test Sunday night , when Vampire-Con concluded with Vampirella's Ball. Goths showed up in their classic duds to salute the subject matter. With no Blade, Buffy or Monster Squad in sight, it was a regular monster mash with more cleavage than a knife factory.
There were hordes of vampires; caped Bela Lugosi type vampires, vampires on stilts, cowboy vampires, a vampire pirate(Vampirate?), several Elizabeth Bathorys, a Gary Oldman Dracula, a Grateful Dead Vampire,

(Note: This story will be "stickied" at the top of our headlines for the day. Being able to host it is an honor beyond words.)
It was a Blood-Red-letter day for fandom as pros and fans alike gathered to bid a reluctant “Forry-well” to the late great genre-icon Forrest J. Ackerman! Hollywood’s historic Egyptian Theatre served as a temple for the filled-to-capacity ritual sponsored by the American Cinematheque, Profiles in History auction house and the Ackerman estate.
Guests began waiting on line at around 1:00Pm for the scheduled 3:00Pm reception. By 2:30 over 200 bodies had congregated at the doors of the theater. Inside, staff was scrambling. Pieces of Forry’s collection were being displayed (A first edition of Dracula signed by Bram Stoker and almost everyone who ever played the famous Vampire on screen, Bela Lugosi’s Dracula cape and Forry’s fave prop: the “Robotrix” from
