Director Maurizio Nichetti said he wanted to show Angela Finocchiaro (more used to comic roles) as attractive as possible in this film. "On screen she had to show herself totally naked, without complexes, as an object of desire, not for laughs. We have done auditions to show how feminine and beautiful she could be; and we had to fight to do it, because she had never worn a skirt in her life, never used femininity as a weapon of seduction."
In a scene a totally nude Angela Finocchiaro is smeared with melted chocolate and then decorated like a haute cuisine cake, with a quote / tribute / parody from Sweet Movie (1974). "The chocolate was real, and made by an excellent pastry chef," Finocchiaro recalled. "It was wonderful to let myself be invaded by its warmth and enveloped by its perfume. But then when I had to take a shower it was a tragedy, partly because I was sorry to part with that pleasure, partly because the water continued to run irremediably brown ... rivers of chocolate wasted and hard to remove."
