Sex & Nudity

  • The main character hits a man in the crotch with the butt of his rifle.
  • Dresses reveal cleavage.
  • Cora tells Quigley, whom she affectionately calls "Roy," that she needs to say the words "Matthew Quigley" in order for him to make love to her.
  • Cora tells Quigley that she is cold and invites him to join her under her blanket, removing her corset and snuggling close to him. He refuses, saying that he won't share his bed until he is certain she knows who's in it. No nudity. The next day, Quigley suggests they both take their clothes off and go swimming, to which Cora replies, "Shame on you!" Quigley, perplexed, asks what the previous night was about then.
  • Marston's men attempt to bring "white tarts" back to Marston's place to serve as prostitutes because they are "sick of black ladies." The men attempt to forcibly take Cora until Quigley intervenes.
  • A couple kisses and fairly mild sexual references.
  • There's several scenes of native nudity: female breasts and male buttocks. Not meant to be sexual in any way, neither is the focus of the scene.

Violence & Gore

  • After Quigley arrives in Australia, he tries to rescue Cora from being taken by a group of men, some of whom he hits with his rifle butt. Blood is mildly shown. Cora joins in the fight and accidentally hits Quigley in the head with a paddle.
  • Quigley is beaten by Marsten's men, and Cora is punched after trying to intervene. They are both carried away into the desert and left for dead, after which Quigley takes out both men who brought him there.
  • Quigley is dragged from a rope attached to the back of a horse by Marsten's men and said to be "half alive."
  • Cora tells Quigley that she accidentally suffocated her baby while trying to keep him from screaming when her home was attacked by Comanches.
  • Quigley is shot in the upper leg and uses a makeshift tourniquet to stop the bleeding.
  • A man with a broken back tells Quigley to "finish" him. Quigley hands him a revolver and tells him there is only one shot left. The man commits suicide offscreen.
  • A dingo's bloody, mangled carcass is shown.
  • A woman is shown who has been shot to death.
  • Several gunfight scenes. The villain makes a point of shooting aborigines and herding them off cliffs, for which purpose Quigley was hired.

Profanity

  • The phrase "yo. Jesus" is used
  • Several uses of "shit" in the movie.
  • G.D. Is said one time
  • 7 uses of 'Bloody' 4 uses of 'Shit' 2 uses of 'Bugger' 2 uses of 'God Almighty' 1 use of 'Jesus Christ' and 1 use of 'Bastard'

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Quigley drinks wine in Marston's house (after having thrown him out the window).
  • Men smoke cigars.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Elliot Marston's violent behavior is disturbing.
  • Men set fire to a house, and Quigley escapes the flames via a rooftop hatch. He manages to jump onto a nearby roof, crashing through into the next building.
  • Quigley and Cora eat what appear to be live caterpillars with the aborigines.
  • Quigley is threatened to be hanged by British soldiers, after which they are completely surrounded by aborigines. The natives mysteriously seem to vanish after the soldiers, outnumbered, ride away.
  • Aborigines appear to be performing some kind of ritual on Quigley with creepy vocalizations. Cora afterward mentions that they were working magic on them.
  • The scenes showing aborigines being driven over cliffs may be disturbing. Also, dingoes attack a woman and a baby in a cave.
