A wonderful, inventive, witty, stylishly cool and intelligent programme, The Paradise Club had it all, as well as two of the most engaging leads in Grantham and the much missed Henderson since Tony Curtis and Roger Moore in The Persuaders! I fondly remember this when it first went out, amazing as I was only a kid, and then I made sure I caught up with the repeat runs on UK Gold back in 1997. Second time around I found it to be one of the very best shows made by Brtish TV. Murray Smith was an excellent writer mixing The Church, Gangland culture and myths and Scotland Yard-treating them all like rival gangs- all into one delightful mix, occasionally tongue in cheek but always fast paced and essentially London ...Only Big Deal tops this!
