The greatest story ever told, 15 October 2005
Author: bov_laurie from United Kingdom
The Hoff is on fire in this hilarious action comedy. Not only is his acting Olivieresque, but his fashion sense is also second to none. 'Bail Out', funded by sportswear company, Head, is undoubtedly one of the most spectacular films in cinematic history, peaking towards the finale with the Hoff's triumphant celebration after shooting down the evil helicopter with a flare gun. The 'two arms aloft' ecstatic cry leaves many would-be cinema goers wondering how this genial colossus of a film was ever taken straight onto VHS format. And Thank God somebody had the sense to bring Bail Out to the future generations when they decided to forward it onto the more modern DVD format. Also praise be to Tesco for not only displaying Bail Out on it's shop floors, but also for pricing this masterpiece at the CRRRAAAZZZZYYYY price of 97 pence. All Hail 'The Hoff'! Best line- 'Hit the road f**k face!'

A laugh out loud edge of seat triumph, 10 November 2005

Writer, Director Max Klevin delivers one of the best films of the modern Hollywood era with this thrill a minute movie based in the shadowy world of bail bondsmen and Colombian nutters. Almost all of Klevin's previous work has been in stunt coordination and this shines through with cars going through walls and people falling off horses all the time!!! As ever The Hoff delivers a faultless performance and his fans will share his delight when he brings down the baddies helicopter with a flare gun and punches the air with delight. Throughout the film Hasselhoff brings his superior ability right to the fore and delivers his one liners like a seasoned comedian.
The support cast is also very strong with Linda Blair playing a confused heiress like she was a confused heiress in real life. Col. Decker out of the A-Team is also in it. Nobody else famous though.
The most surprising thing about Bail Out is that it didn't spawn any sequels or spin-offs. The buddy buddy aspect of the film is on a par with Lethal Weapon and new adventures for this team would have been lapped up by an eager audience. Ideas for spin-offs could have incorporated White Bread and a lot of babes setting up a female bail bonds team and getting into mischief while wearing bikinis. Or White Bread could have to make sure the real life David Hasselhoff shows up for court (on trumped up charges) thereby allowing The Hoff to play two parts in the same film - namely White Bread and David Hasselhoff. I would love to see David Hasselhoff playing two parts (such as twins, one good and one bad preferably) as he does this so well in Jeckyll and Hyde the musical.
Oh yeah - if you like horses this film should be avoided as lots of horses look to get hurt.
Joe and Stu thought it was ace. I thought it was ace.

"Anybody else wanna save the taxpayers some money?", 28 October 2005
Author: Legend_In_The_Making from Canada
...Is what David Hassalhoff sez to the rest of the thugs after shooting one in self defense.
This is a good action/comedy flick. It only cost $2, but it was a higher quality movie than the cheap cover and EP print entailed. Also I have no idea why it sez only 3.7 stars on here. I dunno who's rating these things. This is real entertaining and interesting to watch. Very stylish.
Starts out with a humorous/smooth opening. We see a man driving down a rich, pretty neighbourhood in California in an old classy car. The music is funky. He smiles and greets passers, as they smile and greet back. Then after he drives by he makes negative but funny comments about them. The fake sex scene later on was also really funny.
I've never seen David Hassolhoff in a movie before. He was cool. He reminds me of Mel Gibson. I haven't seen a movie with Linda Blair since The Exorcist. She is all grown up in this one. She still looks creepy. I never noticed before... she has a big forehead! I haven't seen John Vernon since Dirty Harry. He looks a great deal older in this one (and heavier). But still the same old commanding voice. Danny Trejo's cameo in it was surprising, but nice. This was before his cousin Robert Rodriguez made it big with El Mariachi, and had him in all his movies.
All the characters in this movie are written and played very well, as is their relations. Props to the writer/producer/director who put it together. Movies are always best when the writer is the director too.

Awesome Action Flick!!!, 25 May 2003
Author: jellyneckr
When I originally saw this flick in the summer of 2001, I didn't think it was that good of a film. I thought it was pretty cool though. Cut to a few days ago when a friend of mine suggested that I watch it again and I was blown away. This movie was far better than I remembered it to be. The action scenes are some of the best in cinematic history. It's hard to believe that this went direct-to-video since it is way better than any theatrically released action film that has come out recently. No review of this movie would be complete without saying that John Vernon is the man. Ever since ANIMAL HOUSE, Vernon has appeared in a number of truly excellent underrated movies such as this one. ****

Jaw Dropping Fun, 24 February 2007
Author: shark-43 from L.A. CA
It was my friend's birthday and he LOVES cheesy bad cinema - the kind that are sooo incompetent and unintentionally hilarious - so when I saw a DVD copy of Hasselhoff and Linda Blair in a flick called BAIL OUT for 2 bucks - bingo - I bought it and gave it to my pal. Well, we laughed our butts off - this movie starts bad and just keeps getting bad. You see badly executed stunts, awful acting, garish costumes and stunningly corny dialouge "There's a time for shooting and a time for talking" - Hasselhoff was also a producer on this and he makes sure he gets well lit and his hair is always perfect and hair sprayed into place - he plays a bounty hunter called Whitebread who is also a tennis pro - there are clichéd Asian gardeners, clichéd Mexicans, clichéd Arabs, clichéd evil Columbian drug lords - there is even a scene in Mexico where a Mexican character living way out in the middle of nowhere is wearing an actual mariachi costume and they never call attention to it! Like - hey we all dress like this, see? Wow - you have to see this to believe it and most of the time Linda Blair is tied to a chair and gagged so she does lots of special EYE acting. This is one of the greatest bad movies ever made. Hasselhoff rules - you have to pay attention when he almost slips trying to jump onto a truck or his special thrusting of fists in the air as he celebrates shooting down a helicopter (where you can plainly see the wires attached to bring it down). A very special piece of rotten cinema.

Hasselhoff's guns are in awesome form - again!, 1 September 2005
Author: WB BUCHANNAN from United Kingdom
Apparently when David Hasselhoff read the script and saw his on screen partners would be a Hispanic character and a token afro American he thought "my god i can feel the on-screen chemistry already!" - HE WAS WRONG! DEAD WRONG! When you see this film you really just want to say "gee Dave music really is the best career for you!" this film is unbelievably confusing, for starters its never explained why Hasselhoffs character is called Whitebread! AWESOME!!! The film is described as an action comedy which it is in a way, Hasselhoff wandering around trying to save some bint from drug lords whilst waving a pistol around like its a sock is some of the best unintentional comedy ever! The only explanation for Linda Blair agreeing to do this movie is that the priest didn't do a good enough job! as she must have been temporarily possessed by the demons of straight to the 99p bin in asda, ironically i bought this movie for 2p less in tesco, i could have spent it on something far more entertaining like a bath mat! all in all you should see this film if only to see Hasselhoffs awesome guns!
Very Entertaining Film, 13 November 2008

Author: whpratt1 from United States
This film had plenty of humor, drama and all kinds of situations that White Bread, (David Hasselhoff) has to face trying to be a bounty hunter along with some very funny assistants which gave a great supporting role as sidekicks with White Bread and also put plenty of comedy in their roles. There is a motel scene where White Bread stops at a motel with Annette Ridgeway, (Linda Blair) a girl who has been kidnapped and she asks White Bread to stop so she can take a shower because she has been in the same clothes for days. However, Annette and White Bread do wind up in bed with a very comic scene where they pretend to be making love with a squeaky bed. There are plenty of bombs exploding and even a UH-1 Helicopter, Vietnam vintage which makes an attempt to kill all the bounty hunters. This film will entertain you and if you are a big David Hasselhoff fan, you will like to see how young he looked in the Year 1989. Enjoy.

OK,first up,you have to overlook the immediately noticeable poor video quality once you've placed this cinematic masterpiece into your DVD player(or downloaded it,but lets face it, its 99p in most stores, the cover artwork is worth it alone!).If you can get past this first hurdle, you then have to face an opening soundtrack that can only be what some studio had left once Debbie had done Dallas, and Emanuelle had gone into space.....bring on the Porno-Funk!!!But believe me once you pass this you are going to witness what must be the the most ridiculous movie committed to celluloid ever...but it so unashamedly knows it,and for that it is brilliant. The Hoff swaggers his way through tennis practice, hot showers, product advertisement(i wasn't aware tennis and sportswear manufacturer Head made car interiors, but some lingering shots in this film make sure I,and anyone else who has watched this, now do!),oh yeah and gunfights with stereotyped Columbian gangsters(who seem like they were also left overs from the same studios as the soundtrack). The plot is like a stretched out episode of Baywatch, minus the beach and the women, with badly shot stunts, car chases,(oh yeah, check the overdubbing on the Hoffs car to give it a bigger roar,it revs when he is parking!!)and random filler scenes...the supporting cast, including a much more scary than in the Exorcist Linda Blair, are OK enough, but lets face it,as with all his projects,The Hoff and his immaculately placed hair are the stars of the show, resulting in cheesy lines, cheesy grins and cheesy slow mo''NOOOOOOOOOOOOOSSS'' before a dive to shoot down the badguys helicopter. With a flare gun.Classic! Also notice the long pause between said slo mo and actual firing of missile. On a rope.(you'll see what i mean.)Basically Hoff is one of a trio of bounty hunters,Linda Blair the rich heiress caught with a drugs baron, then kidnapped,Hoff and pals try and rescue her, including heading to Mexico, all for a lousy five grand paycheck(plus the endorsement money from Head!)Now it might sound like i hated it,but all the badly made elements fall together nicely to form a so-bad-its bad-its good masterpiece, like a season of Baywatch squeezed into 90 minutes, tacky, cheap but goddamn irresistible!

The greatest ever Thomas Rosales film, 2 December 2001
Author: johnrooney_u2 from columbia, columbia
At last my two favourite actors of all time combine in this cheap, low budget piece of crap. It takes buddy movies to a whole new level of genius. Thomas Rosales and David Hasselhoff combine their golden thespian abilities reminding me of a young Pacino with the experienced Brando in Cyber Teacher 6:the revenge of Old Man McLauglin. All joking aside this is the worst script ever written but some of the finest acting since De Niro in the Deer Hunter. What was the director thinking on this piece of s**t. One of the most enjoyable experiences in years and it definitely made it into my top 1243463 films. Scandalously ignored at the Oscars for best director, actor, supporting actor, actress, script and worst film at the razzie awards. The ending is simply genius and some of the action sequences surely put James Cameron to shame. Martin Scorsese recently said that most of his films were mainly influenced by this film. He's watched it over 200 times and still doesn't like it.He said it was one of the reasons he wanted to make films, so thank the cast and crew of W.B Blue and the Bean for all his classics. Overall this film really did change my life, I'll never watch another film again!

A Very Entertaining Piece of Film, 2 January 2007
Author: Gavin Schmitt (gavin6942@yahoo.com) from Kaukauna, Wisconsin
After an heiress (Linda Blair) is kidnapped by some Colombians and brought to Mexico, three bail bondsmen must rescue her in order to collect their fees. But don't expect it to be easy when you're dealing with drug-running, gun-toting Colombians! Now, some people are quick to dismiss this as a Hasselhoff film with poor video quality. Which, of course, it is. But if you look past the video quality you see a really well-written, fun film.
Hasselhoff is dashing and funny, his mullet flowing in the wind. His two assistants, Blue and Bean, are equally amusing. Their boss is great -- and then Linda Blair! Oh my! Where else will you find this much talent and excitement packed into under two hours? Nowhere! Better than almost any Chuck Norris film you're going to find, Hasselhoff delivers. On land, by sea or in the air... you can't stop him from catching you and still having time to finish his game of tennis. Worth a viewing.
