We are still more than a year away from the opening of Disney Parks' Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Walt Disney World and Disneyland, where it will take visitors to a remote outpost on a planet called Batuu. When it opens in 2019, one of the main draws will be a life-sized Millennium Falcon complete with a flight simulator. We learned new details about the experience at this year’s D23 expo last summer, but we didn't have any images to look at except some concept art. But now we have our first official photo that gives us our first real look inside the Millennium Falcon theme park ride.
The Disney Parks official Twitter page revealed the image this morning (via InsideTheMagic). I've also included a lot of other images that have surfaced online that you can check out below features various other aspects of the Star Wars attraction.

Mark Hamill has responded to worried fans on social media after he was spotted in a wheelchair at a New York airport on Tuesday.
Replying to a fan who asked if he was having health problems, the Star Wars actor wrote that he “tried the old ‘wheelchair trick'” to avoid autograph dealers “who constantly badger” him and his family.

Sarah Hyland seemed less than impressed with Big Thunder Mountain. Sarah was celebrating her birthday Saturday at Disneyland with boyfriend Wells Adams. Wells was having a blast, but Sarah was lost in her iPhone as the car in which she was riding twisted and turned on the track. Once back on terra firma, they walked the park with the rest of the crowd, hitting up Space Mountain and Star Tours. Sarah, who's 27, has been hanging...

We already know that Star Tours is getting a new segment inspired by Star Wars: The Last Jedi, but now there’s a new planet that rider will get to visit in a galaxy far, far away: Batuu.
StarWars.com reveals that Batuu — the location of the upcoming Star Wars-themed land, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge — was announced as a surprise addition on Star Tours at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Disneyland park.
Batuu is described as follows:
“This remote outpost on the galaxy’s edge was once a busy crossroads along the old sub-lightspeed trade routes, but its prominence was bypassed by the rise of hyperspace travel. Now home to those who prefer to stay out of the mainstream, it has become a thriving port for smugglers, rogue traders and adventurers traveling between the frontier and uncharted space. It’s also a convenient safe haven for those...

Disney’s Star Wars ride Star Tours has received a fresh coat of paint and brand new The Last Jedi themed content beginning from today. The first visitors have reported that, as expected, the ride now takes us to Crait, the striking white planet with red dust that we’ve seen in several trailers and TV spots. That’d be pretty neat in and of itself, but there’s more surprises in store.
Park guests have reported on social media that after Crait, the ride takes us further into the future of Star Wars, concluding by dropping riders off on the planet Batuu, now confirmed as the name of the location featured in the upcoming Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge mega-attraction.
First announced at the D23 Expo in Anaheim, Galaxy’s Edge is a billion dollar project that aims to immerse visitors in a working replica of the Star Wars universe.

Much to the delight of fans, Mark Hamill recently made an unexpected appearance at Star Tours. It was not clear whether this was a promotional strategy of Lucasfilm or if it was just an impromptu visit inspired by Hamill’s quirky behavior. As ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’ is due for release soon, Lucasfilm has been putting extra efforts into marketing the film in preparation for its release. Regardless of the motives behind the Disneyland visit, it was certainly a pleasant surprise for fans who were attending the attraction that day. So this is a fun little story to end my shift on. Apparently, unsuspecting fans were treated to Mark Hamill showing up - unannounced - on a routine Star Tours ride. Whenever I go to Disneyland I make it a high priority to visit the galaxy far, far away. I always have Star Tours on the top of my "must ride list." It's not because it's the most thrilling ride at the park, it's because for those few minutes on the ride you are magically transported and feel like you are a part of the Star Wars saga.
But for a small group of people, their ride on Star Tours was extra special. That's because Luke Skywalker himself, Mark Hamill surprised them when he boarded the Starspeeder. The Tweet below show's Hamill's grand entrance, below that a video shot by one of the riders captures his speech.
Talk about an epic experience! Going for a spin with Skywalker himself! The best part about Hamill's visit is that he strapped in and went on the ride. You can faintly hear him say...

It took me long enough- but my childhood dream of working at Disneyland finally came true! #TheLastJedi #StarTours @DisneyStudios @StarWars A post shared by Mark Hamill (@hamillhimself) on Nov 14, 2017 at 8:18pm Pst One lucky batch of Disneyland visitors were in for quite the epic surprise when they waited to board the Star Tours ride on Nov. 14. A park employee prepared the handful of (very lucky) guests by reading from a script, but he added a minor change, saying, "Actually, you know what, the captain did mention something about a special passenger. Oh, and the Force is strong with this one." And that's when Mark Hamill casually waltzed into the room, greeted by shocked gasps and shrieks from everyone. By far the purest reaction of them all was exhibited by one guy seated in the front row of the crowd, as he speechlessly reached for his phone to snap a photo,...

Ahead of the release of Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Disney Parks has given us a look at the newest addition of the Star Tours ride, the very popular Star Wars-themed ride featuring segments taken directly from different eras of the saga. Some fans find it a bit irritating when events from different eras occur during the same ride experience. But according to Wdw News Today those days are gone. When Star Tours opens on November 17th, 2017, riders will only find characters related to the latest Star Wars trilogy and will most likely never see these characters mixed with classic faces and sequences moving forward. The site reports:
"An entirely new opening sequence featuring characters from Episodes 7 and 8 will debut, followed by the Jakku sequence, a transmission from Bb-8 (and maybe even some other new characters), and then finally, the new Crait sequence featuring the planet from The Last Jedi.

Well, it looks like visitors to Disney's theme parks will get the best look at the planet Crait before we actually see it in Star Wars: The Last Jedi when it arrives in theaters on December 15. Join us as we take a look at some of the most head-scratching (and disturbing) movie-based toys to reach the market, and marvel at how they ever became approved.
Movie merchandising, especially the merchandising of toys, is a Big business. According to the Hollywood Reporter, movie merchandising was responsible for $262.9 billion worth of sales in 2016 (globally). Of that total, 45% were a result of toy and other entertainment-related transactions. That’s about $118 billion worth of merchandise, versus movie ticket sales which only totaled an estimated $38.6 billion. From these numbers, it is easy to see why film studios put such an emphasis on the merchandising capabilities of their films, especially the big-budget franchises.
However, just because studios and toy manufacturers have profited immensely from the merchandising of movies doesn’t necessarily mean that those efforts have been quality or well thought out. For the most part, those responsible for making toys for...

Galaxy's Edge visitors will be able to join Chewbacca's crew

If you are like most Star Wars fans one of your favorite rides at Disneyland or Disney's Hollywood Studios must be Star Tours. It's a ride that first opened at Disneyland in 1987. Ironically at the time it was the first ride the park had introduced that was not based on a Disney property (how things have changed). Then in 2010, Disney announced it would be closing the ride to make way for an updated version, the version we have today.
The current version is by all accounts a Much, Much, Much better experience, as it includes segments taken from each Star Wars movie and era, including The Force Awakens and we learned at Star Wars Celebration Orlando that the ride will soon add a portion from The Last Jedi.
But if you never got the chance to ride the original version of Star Tours, its not too late thanks to a fan-made recreation of the ride.

Before I get into this news, I've always thought it was weird to think that a robot has a gender. A robot is a robot and is neither male or female. I guess the only thing that sets it apart is the design of the droid and the voice.
Regardless of that random thought about droids not having a gender, a new report has surfaced saying that the new Han Solo Star Wars movie will feature the first significant female droid. As we previously speculated, the droid will be played by Phoebe Waller-Bridge, who was recently cast in the film.
The news comes from Tracking Board, who says the actress is definitely going to play “the first significantly-featured female droid in Star Wars history” in Lucasfilm's upcoming Star Wars standalone movie.
We've seen female droids before in the Star Wars universe including Bd-3000 and Bettie-Bot VJ from The Clone Wars animated series.

I'm saddened to report today that Star Wars actor Kenny Baker, best known for playing R2-D2, has passed away. The Guardian reported the actor "has died at the age of 81 after a long illness." [Update: The Guardian previously stated he was 83] Baker, who also played Paploo the Ewok in the Star Wars franchise, also had roles in Labyrinth, Time Bandits, and Flash Gordon. His niece Abigail Shield told the Guardian, “It was expected, but it’s sad nonetheless. He had a very long and fulfilled life. He brought lots of happiness to people and we’ll be celebrating the fact that he was well loved throughout the world. We’re all very proud of what he achieved in his lifetime.” Baker's wife Eileen passed away in 1993, they had two children. New York welcomes its first 4Dx cinema – one of just two in the Us – where films such as Batman v Superman are enhanced by shaking seats, wind, and scents
Over the past five years, New York City has become a playground for fans of immersive theater. In these often rewarding experiences, viewers step into the world of the play and are asked to participate in strange and unique ways. Audience members watch as Macbeth conspires with Lady Macbeth at Sleep No More, and sip tea with Alice and the Mad Hatter at Then She Fell. But though New York is overstuffed with movie theaters, both first run and repertory, there’s been nothing comparable to the immersive theater experience for film fanatics – until now. On 25 March, the Regal Cinemas at Union Square will open the first 4Dx theater on the east coast, one of only two in the Us. Having...

The opening of Star Wars Land is still few years away, but Disney is trying to stoke the excitement by introducing new Star Wars experiences into the domestic theme parks. According to The Los Angeles Times, Disneyland is closing down part of its park to make room for Star Wars rides. The news comes after Disney had already retrofitted the capitalist hell that is Tomorrowland to include Star Wars themes by adding new decorations on Space Mountain and making the Star Tours ride Force Awakens-friendly. Still, there's always more Star Wars work to be done. In August, Disney Chief Executive Robert Iger said that Disneyland's renovations will include a Millennium Falcon ride that will go on a "customized secret mission," some sort of immersive "climactic battle between the First Order and the Resistance," and several other as yet unannounced attractions. Which means we have room to pitch! Since our invitations to become professional Disney imagineers clearly got lost in the mail, we'll just have to leave a few of our Star Wars land ideas here:The Force Awakens nap center,...

Ever since Star Wars Land was announced at D23 back in August, fans of both "Star Wars" and Disney Parks have been eager to find out when they can expect this "Star Wars" takeover to begin. While Star Wars Land won't be finished for another two - three years, in lieu of Star Wars Celebration this year, both Disney Parks are hosting a "Season of the Force", which begins at Disneyland in Anaheim November 16 and at Disney's Hollywood Studios in Florida on December 1. Disneyland began this "Star Wars" transformation last week, as new signs went up in Tomorrowland for Super Hero HQ, Path of the Jedi, Hyperspace Mountain, Season of the Force and Star Tours The Journey Continues. There's a big Star Wars promotional event hitting Disneyland theme parks soon called Season of the Force. The event will include a Star Wars version of Space Mountain called Hyperspace Mountain, a new Star Tours experience that will feature an adventure from The Force Awakens, and more.
Today, Disney Parks released a preview video of what will be included in the new Star Tours segment, and it features the Millennium Falcon flying through the planet of Jakku, while trying to escape some Tie Fighters that are chasing it. As you'll see, it's very similar to what we've already seen in the trailers.
Everyone will get to experience this part of the ride during the Season of the Force Event, which launches on November 16th. After it's over, The Force Awakens segment will be permanently included in the attraction randomizer as part of its 72 possible ride experiences.

In the latest installment of James Corden's celeb carpool karaoke, the Late Late Show host was joined by Jason Derulo – and it made for maybe the most amazing car ride ever.
To kick things off, the two sang along and danced to the R&B singer's hit "Talk Dirty," which naturally led to a hilarious conversation in which Derulo, 26, admitted he never used to talk dirty when getting intimate, has had five people sleep in his bed at once and, best of all, that he has a circular bed – something that left Corden, 37, in fits of laughter.

James Corden and Jason Derulo were all over the map in “The Late Late Show’s” latest “Carpool Karaoke” skit — but that’s mostly because they hopped aboard a Star Tours bus by the end. The CBS host welcomed to his morning commute the guy who sings his own name in every song, when the duo belted out “Talk Dirty” and “Wiggle,” among other tunes. At one point, the classically trained Derulo even did some a capella opera, which blew Corden away. The two talked sex, and about how Derulo finds sheets for his massive round bed. The mattress is so large.

Jason Derulo joined James Corden for his latest edition of Carpool Karaoke, and it definitely didn't disappoint! The singer talked about sex, having fivesomes, and how vocal he is in bed. "I [was kinda always] silent," Jason said. "Until this one girl told me that it was weird." The pair then parked and got out of the car so that Jason could give James some pointers on how to dance and pick up girls in the club. But things took a crazy turn when they hijacked a Star Tours bus. Watch the epic video above, then watch all of James's Carpool Karaoke sessions.

During the big Star Wars movie news on Saturday at the D23 Expo 2015 in Anaheim, Calif., Disney also announced a line-up of new attractions and entertainment coming to its theme parks around the world.
Walt Disney Company Chairman and CEO Bob Iger announced to an audience of more than 7,500 fans that Star Wars-themed lands will be coming to Disneyland park in Anaheim, Calif., and Disney’s Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Fla., allowing Star Wars fans to step into the stories from a galaxy far, far away.
Ambitious plans to bring Star Wars to life in the two parks include creating Disney’s largest single themed land expansions ever at 14 acres each, transporting guests to a never-before-seen planet, a remote trading port and one of the last stops before wild space where Star Wars characters and their stories come to life.

If there’s one downer to the Star Wars Land news announced today, it’s that we’ve still got a while to wait before we can actually go to there, as Star Wars nerd Liz Lemon would put it. Fortunately, Disney’s got a couple other Star Wars-themed treats in store for park visitors in the near future. […]

Get ready to have all of your childhood fantasies come true. Two 14-acre “Star Wars” Disney theme park expansions are coming. One in Anaheim’s Disney Land and the second in Orlando’s Disney World, The Walt Disney Company Chairman and CEO Bob Iger announced at today’s D23 Expo in Annaheim. These will be immersive “experiences” in the vein of Universal Studios’ “Harry Potter World.” Guests will be invited to party in the Cantina and fly the Millennium Falcon on a customized mission – hopefully not in that order. Take a look at some of the concept art below: “We are creating a jaw-dropping new world that represents our largest single themed land expansion ever,” Iger said. “These new lands at Disneyland and Walt Disney World will transport guests to a whole new Star Wars planet, including an epic Star Wars adventure that puts you in the middle of a...

Everyone knows who Yoda is: he's the small, green Jedi Master who once patrolled the cosmos but was then, after the rise of the Galactic Empire, relegated to a swampy backwater planet, whose relevance was returned when he helped a young Luke Skywalker return balance to the Force. And everyone knows what Yoda sounds like - the scratchy voice, the backwards syntax, the little squeaks and harrumphs, all provided by Frank Oz, a director, puppeteer and close confederate of Jim Henson. Oz provided the voice and performed Yoda in "Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back," "Star Wars: Return of the Jedi," and "Star Wars: The Phantom Menace" (utilizing a much crummier puppet that was later replaced by computer graphics) and provided his voice for "Star Wars: Attack of the Clones" and "Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith." And he'll be portraying Yoda once again... for Disney Xd's "Star Wars: Rebels" TV show.

Last week a flurry of speculation erupted across the Internet about the placement of the "Star Wars" franchise within the Disney theme parks, citing recent Disney CEO Bob Iger's comments about waiting for "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" to be finalized before progressing on theme park plans. This, of course, meant countless pieces about how the "Star Wars" theme park additions would be based on the new movies and not the classic films, even though anyone, with a passing understanding of the nuances of human language, could have told you that the theme park stuff will be based on both. Meaning that you will be able to drink blue milk at the Mos Eisley Cantina and interact with Bb-88, the cute soccer ball droid from the "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" trailer. But wait! There's more! A classic Disney ride might get a "Force Awakens" redo as well...
