Stockard Channing shines yet again in The Room Upstairs, a sweet, heartbreaking little flick about Leah Lazenby, a landlady and special needs teacher who feels something is missing in her life. The final piece of the puzzle come in the shape of Travis Coles, a cello player portrayed by Sam Waterston.
The Room Upstairs is notable for a dazzling performance by Stockard Channing, a strange little role for Sarah Jessica Parker (she has about four lines maximum) and an early glimpse of Joan Allen. It's a nice film that deserves a bit of recognition.
