In the previous films Jason's hockey mask had a red chevron marking on the forehead. By the end of Part 4 the marking had mostly rubbed off. In this film there is a complete red marking, but it is a triangle rather than a chevron shape.
In the previous films Jason had a misshapen and asymmetrical face. His left eye was normal but his right eye was bulging and "dead" looking. In this film he has no left eye (as a result of his injury at the end of Part 4) and his right eye appears perfectly normal.
