Harold Ramis talks ‘Ghostbusters 3′, says old team will be like “Christopher Lloyd in ‘Back to the Future’”

1 hour ago | ReelLoop.com | See recent Reel Loop news »

In another round of Ghostbusters 3 talk, Harold Ramis said that the third entry in the Ghostbusting saga will begin production in the summer of 2010. While that seems like great news for most folks under the age of 37, I have to look at this news with a little nugget of skepticism.

During the summer both Dan Aykroyd and Bill Murray did not seem very enthused nor involved in the project.

“Obviously its all talk until I have the following: B117B3X9, that’s a production number,” Dan Aykroyd said. “When I see the production number, then I’ll know I’m in the picture business again. But I don’t have the production number tonight.”

He added: “We have a script, but no production number and until we have the green light, we can’t stick the pipe up into the mega-corporation and draw the honey.”

Bill Murray wasn’t comforting either. »

Harold Ramis Talks About A Third ‘Ghostbusters’ Movie

18 hours ago | The Scorecard Review | See recent Scorecard Review news »

When there’s something strange in the movie gossip world, who ya gonna call? Harold Ramis.

Speaking to Heeb Magazine, actor/writer/director Harold Ramis has finally dished out some solid information about what’s going on with that “rumored” third movie in the Ghostbusters trilogy:

“Something’s going to happen. Dan [Aykroyd] did write a spec GB3 screenplay a few years ago, but no one was motivated to pursue it. Now, 25 years after the original, there seems to be some willingness to proceed and apparently a substantial public appetite for a sequel. We’ll introduce some new young Ghostbusters, and all the old guys will be in it, too. Think Christopher Lloyd in Back to the Future … GB3 is progressing with plans to shoot next summer and release in 2011 … Oh, and I have two one-of-a-kind Ghostbuster yarmulkes sent by fans.”

Other than that, we also know for sure that Gene Stupnitsky and Lee Eisenberg, »

Ramis hints at 2011 for Ghostbusters III

30 December 2009 8:02 AM, PST | Corona's Coming Attractions | See recent Corona's Coming Attractions news »

Heeb magazine, the place for appreciation of hip Judiaism culture, has an interview with Year One director (and Ghostbusters cast member) Harold Ramis. In the nearly 20 years since the release of Ghostbusters II, Egon's hair has gone nearly snow white but Ramis' acerbic wit hasn't diminished.

The interview covers the breadth of Ramis' film career, touching on questions concerning Stripes, Groundhog Day and his thoughts on today's movie comedians. And then Heeb's interviewer hits up Ramis with the manditory Ghostbusters III question about when the heck this sequel is gonna happen:

"Something’s going to happen. Dan [Aykroyd] did write a spec GB3 screenplay a few years ago, but no one was motivated to pursue it," Ramis answered. "Now, 25 years after the original, there seems to be some willingness to proceed and apparently a substantial public appetite for a sequel. Buy This: DeLorean Time Machine on eBay

30 December 2009 7:32 AM, PST | Cinematical | See recent Cinematical news »

You know you have entered a new realm of fandom when you are willing to plunk down almost $90,000 for a movie memorabilia recreation -- but that is exactly what a Back To The Future fanatic by the name of edaum is hoping you'll do. That's right, for just $89,000.00 (Us), you can be the proud new owner of your very own DeLorean Time Machine (plutonium not included). The car is a perfect replica of Doc Brown's creation, and was crafted from a 1981 DeLorean Dmc-12 by Gary Weaver, owner of www.bttfparts.com. The car is an identical replica to the one used in the film, and I doubt that even the most discerning Back to the Future fan would be able to tell the difference.

Surprisingly, the car is fully operational and only about 2 years old, so unlike most memorabilia, this one you can actually take for a spin -- just »

Ghostbusters 3 in 2011?

30 December 2009 7:23 AM, PST | Reelzchannel.com | See recent ReelzChannel news »

When Sigourney Weaver dropped some details about Ghostbusters 3, it seemed like she was giving away some spoilers ... but she's not alone. Harold Ramis confirmed to Heeb Magazine that there will be a new group of Ghostbusters in the third installment, which may see theaters in 2011.

Something's going to happen. Dan [Aykroyd] did write a spec GB3 screenplay a few years ago, but no one was motivated to pursue it. Now, 25 years after the original, there seems to be some willingness to proceed and apparently a substantial public appetite for a sequel. We'll introduce some new young Ghostbusters, and all the old guys will be in it, too. Think Christopher Lloyd in Back to the Future ... GB3 is progressing with plans to shoot next summer and release in 2011.

Ghostbusters 3 currently has no director, though Ghostbusters and Ghostbusters 2 director Ivan Reitman hasn't "ruled out" returning to direct a script by Gene Stupnitsky »

Ghostbusters 3 To Shoot Next Year for 2011 Release?

30 December 2009 6:56 AM, PST | ScreenRant.com | See recent Screen Rant news »

For literally years now (even stretching as far back as 1989) we’ve heard word of a Ghostbusters 3, with quotes of “maybes” and “mights” chiefly coming from Harold Ramis and Dan Akroyd, the director and star of the first two movies. But there’s so much of those vague speculative statements that it seems we can’t really trust anything that comes out about the film, even if it comes straight from the key players involved.

The last piece of speculation we posted about Ghostbusters 3 didn’t come from the usual suspects, but rather from one of the first two film’s other stars, Sigourney Weaver. While doing the rounds promoting Avatar, questions inevitably turned to the third Ghostbusters and she said that she’s had calls asking if she’ll read the script (leading her to think she’ll be involved) and also that Bill Murray might be back but as a ghost. »

Harold Ramis Adds to the 'Ghostbusters 3' Chatter

Thanks to Sigourney Weaver, we've already learned and a little bit about some of the potential plans for the long-rumored "Ghostbusters III."

Although some of Weaver's assertions have been dismissed, today's GB3 rumor mill entry comes from a slightly more official source: writer and actor Harold Ramis.

While speaking with Heeb, the writer/actor/producer had this to say:

"Something's going to happen. Dan [Aykroyd] did write a spec GB3 screenplay a few years ago, but no one was motivated to pursue it. Ghostbusters 3

This news comes from the CEO of all things Ghostbusters, Egon himself, and while every interview Harold Ramis gives until Ghostbusters 3 hits our screens will be rife with questions about the long awaited sequel, you can bet that lips will be tightened as the script is finalised, and shooting begins.

HeebMagazine spent a while with Mr Ramis and covered his entire career as a director and star, it is a great read (complimented with some fantastic pictures of the man) and the inevitable Ghostbusters 3 question comes up.

Here’s what he had to say:

Could Ghostbusters 3 Start Filming This Summer?

29 December 2009 11:30 PM, PST | Collider.com | See recent Collider.com news »

Ghostbusters 3 has been rumored for a great many years, but the project looks like it is finally taking off.  Director Harold Ramis says it may start shooting next summer and hit screens in 2011.  He also revealed a few details about the plot of the film.  It’s unlikely that Dan Aykroyd’s Ghostbuster go to Hell script will ever see the light of day, as Ramis appears to be leaning toward a Ghostbusters: The New Class type of movie.  The full quote and a bunch of speculation is after the jump.

Ramis spoke with Heeb Magazine about his entire career (a good read). When it came to Ghostbusters, he was notably open about the new film.

'Ghostbuters 3' Shooting This Summer for 2011?

29 December 2009 11:04 PM, PST | GetTheBigPicture.net | See recent Get The Big Picture news »

Harold Ramis has given us a concrete schedule for Ghostbusters 3, although I wouldn't bet that the concrete is dry just yet. Ramis, along with Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd, is expected to return for the threequel, but Murray has dropped hints that he's never agreed to anything and won't "leave the house" until a script is done and it's solid.

But now Ramis tells Heeb that apparently whatever script there is exists in a good enough form that they've got to be in some phase of pre-production. The writer-director-actor says shooting is scheduled to take place in matter of months:

"Something's going to happen. Dan did write a spec GB3 screenplay a few years ago, but no one was motivated to pursue it. Harold Ramis (Egon from Ghostbusters) recently caught up with Heeb Magazine where he updated the status of Ghostbusters 3. It's that time of the week again. You know it well by now. Yep, some new "news" has broken about Ghostbusters 3 that further teases hopeful fans.

This next nugget of info comes to us from an interview star Harold Ramis did with Heeb Magazine.

Replica of the DeLorean from Back To The Future up for sale

Seeing how this is my birthday, I find it only fitting to bring you the news of what would be the number one item on my wish list if I could ask for absolutely anything I wanted. The number two item would either be Darth Vader’s chamber that puts his helmet on for him or Cher’s automated closet from Clueless, but we won’t go into that.

Ghostbuster 3 News?

At this point, I don’t even know if it is considered news.  It’s just the latest actor/actress/director/producer/director’s son talking up a potential sequel that, if it was ever going to hit, should have done so ages ago.  This time around, we have Harold Ramis talking to Heeb Magazine about much of his career as an actor/director.  I’m not even sure if questions about Ghostbusters 3 even need to be asked.  The interviewer just raises his or her eyebrows and raises three fingers as if ordering drinks.

Here’s what Ramis had to say about the potentiality of the film.  He seems to think it’s a done deal:

Delorean Time Machine For Sale On Ebay

29 December 2009 6:44 AM, PST | cinemablend.com | See recent Cinema Blend news »

If, at the age of 8, I could have conceived of something like eBay, I think Gary Weaver would have made my lifelong dream come true. He's the guy who is currently offering a "screen accurate" DeLorean for sale on eBay, modeled precisely after the time machine that takes Marty McFly back to 1955 in Back to the Future. I am serious when I say that I could probably come up with a few body parts to sell to help me cover the current $59,000 asking price (or I could buy it now for $89,000!) I mean, people pay that much money for cars that don't look like time machines. Why would you do that when you can now own a car equipped with a flux capacitor! Ok, the flux capacitor may or may not work, and apparently the "plutonium rods" in the back are fake. But! There's an Outatime license plate. There's a »

Votd: Tom Wilson’s Biff Song

Most people know comedian Tom Wilson as the guy who played Biff Tannen in the Back to the Future trilogy, which probably explains why he is consistently questioned about his experience on the films wherever he goes. Wilson decided to turn the answers into a song as part of his comedy act, so that it might save him time next time you catch him walking down the street and get the urge to ask him about Michael J Fox. The video was recorded at one of Wilson's gigs a few years back, but we're reaching into the archives as this is a slow week for content. Watch the video now, after the jump.
