This crime drama seems to be written by Frederic Dard himself and the beginning is totally different in terms of atmosphere and tone from the following. There is not really black humor but some light hearted elements just prepare - or may I say compensate - the darker lines, such as the ending, for instance. I am sure most audiences will stay puzzled in front of such a film destined to home viewers. Michel Creton is good in this petty hoodlum character, though being in his forties. After a while I think that despite the downbeat ending, it remains a light hearted crime drama, maybe not a real comedy. Just bearable for me.
