Actor Vic Morrow and two child extras, My-Ca Dinh Le (7) and Renee Shin-Yi Chen (6), died in July 1982 during the filming of Twilight Zone: The Movie, as a result of an accident with a stunt helicopter.The tragedy took place during filming of Segment 1, directed by John Landis. A pyrotechnic explosion caused the pilot to lose control of the helicopter. It went down, crushing Chen and its blades beheading Morrow and Le. All three died instantly.A trial in 1986 found director Landis and several others involved in the production, including Steven Spielberg, not guilty of manslaughter. Accusations of negligence continue to plague Landis today.
