Susan Sarandon has outed herself in America's top gay magazine Out - she once dated a homosexual man. The actress, a gay icon thanks to roles in films like The Hunger and Thelma & Louise, admits she's thrilled with her status among homosexuals - and insists she has always enjoyed the company of gay men. She says, "I had a longtime relationship with someone who is gay. He was fabulous. He had never been with a woman before." The actress admits she's open to all relationships and refuses to label herself 100 per cent heterosexual, even though she has been dating Tim Robbins for years and they have a family together. She explains, "I don't like any kind of labels. You're born open to all kinds of things and eventually you find your balance. I tell my kids it's not about gender - the hard part is deciding if you want to truly be intimate with another person."
