No ‘T’ in ‘The A-Team’?

I’ve made no secret about being excited for the The A-Team movie coming out this summer. No matter what other trailer I see (including even Iron Man 2) there’s something about The A-Team that just resonates with me. Maybe it’s the nostalgia factor or it could be that director Joe Carnahan knows how to make a kick-ass action film (see Smokin’ Aces). Either way, it’s my number one pick for the 2010 Summer blockbuster season.
One particular aspect of the new film I’m looking forward to are the cameos from Dirk Benedict and Dwight Shultz, the original Faceman and Murdock. With these two secured I was certain Carnahan would pull off the best cameo trio ever and get Mr. T as well. Unfortunately, that doesn’t seem to be the case.
Latino Review caught up with Mr. T (at a gym no less) and asked him

Mr T Dispells A-Team Film Cameo

Actor and pop culture icon Mr. T has denied rumors that he’ll have a cameo role in the upcoming film remake of “The A-Team”.
Mr. T told Latino Review that he’d been offered a cameo role similar to the ones that former A-Teamers Dwight Schultz and Dirk Bennett will have in the 2010 film, but turned it down.
The film is being described by writer Michael Brandt as more in the vein of action films such as “Die Hard” and “The Bourne Identity” rather than the somewhat comedic and schlocky original series.
The film, which stars Liam Neeson, Bradley Cooper, Sharlto Copley, and Quinton “Rampage” Jackson, is slated for release June 11th, 2010.

Mother and Child
Opens: 2010
Cast: Naomi Watts, Annette Bening, Samuel L. Jackson, Kerry Washington
Director: Rodrigo Garcia
Summary: A tale of a mother and daughter, separated at birth, who struggle with the damage done by the most important person missing in their lives while a young African-Americn woman deals with an unwanted pregnancy and the adoption process.
Analysis: Scoring rave reviews in Toronto, the $7 million latest effort of Rodrigo Garcia ("Nine Lives," "Things You Can Tell Just By Looking At Her") once again shows off his skill at weaving multiple narratives together in clever and unexpected ways. At its heart it's an emotional family drama, but Garcia excels with his female characters which makes the involvement of Naomi Watts, Kerry Washington and especially Annette Benning thrilling.
The few criticisms levelled at the film were toward some pacing and credibility issues in the last act, but otherwise praised it for not

Our 20 Most Anticipated Movies Of 2010

As we come to the end of 2009, it’s time to look forward and put together our list of our most anticipated movies of 2010.
Last year could have been worse – 5 of our 10 most anticipated movies of 2009 turned out to live up to our expectations (including Watchmen, Up, and Star Trek), while the other five ranged from mediocre (Public Enemies) to downright disappointing (Terminator Salvation, Wolverine, Transformers 2). Of course “most anticipated” does not necessarily mean “movies we think are going to be awesome” – it’s “movies we hope are going to be awesome.”
This year the task was made a lot easier thanks to our senior editor Kofi Outlaw putting together Screen Rant’s 2010 movie preview, giving us a one-stop list from which to gather the biggies. While last year was a group effort, this year I’ve decided to pull rank and come up with the list myself, with

The A-Team Won't Have a Mr. T Cameo

The A-Team movie will see cameos from TV series actors Dwight Schultz (the original "Howling" Mad Murdock) and Dirk Benedict (the original Faceman). However, LatinoReview report that Mr. T will not make an appearance in the movie.
According to the report, the iconic actor was not interested in returning, since he would not be appearing as B.A. Baracus, the role he originated in the TV series (Quinton "Rampage" Jackson will play that role in the movie). He also didn't want the movie to be marketed around his cameo if he wouldn't be playing a major role. Mr. T claims that he has "nothing against the cast" or the big screen adaptation, he just isn't interested in a cameo.
The A-Team will open June 11, 2010, and stars Jackson, along with Liam Neeson as Hannibal, Bradley Cooper as Faceman, and Sharlto Copley as Murdock. Joe Carnahan directs.

Mr T has turned down a cameo in the Joe Carnahan directed rebake of 80s TV favourite The A-Team according to Latino Review, who spoke to the original B.A. Baracus this week.
While rumours of Dwight Schultz and Dirk Benedict appearing in small roles in the new film have been around for a while it seemed somewhat natural that 20th Century Fox would think to approach one of the most iconic actors of the 80s, but it didn’t happen.
Personally I find these cameos a touch distracting and I can imagine nothing worse than Mr T. appearing as a car salesman or desk bound cop in the new film – or even worse as B.A. Baracus Snr… But seriously the man appears not have aged in the last twenty years so they could have cast him instead of Quinton Jackson so kudos to Mr T. for turning down

Ever since casting for The A-Team wrapped up and shooting began, all of the Internet buzz surrounding the remake is about cameos. In early November word got out that the original .Howling Mad. Murdock, Dwight Schultz, had been keeping an eye on his successor, Sharlto Copley, and will make an appearance in the film. Just two weeks later, Dirk Benedict, the original .Faceman. Peck, was rumored to have a cameo himself. It looks like director Joe Carnahan will have to settle with two of three, because Mr. T has no intentions of being part of the film.
While at the gym, Latino Review bumped into Mr. T and spoke with him about the topic. Here.s Lr.s recap of the conversation:
He said it wasn't about money, because he turned down the chance to appear in the film before that was even discussed. He said it just wouldn't be

Mr. T will not do a cameo in the new "The A-Team" movie because he's too busy playing World of Warcraft. Okay, while the first part of this is true, the second isn't. You really won't get to see him in the flick.
Joe Carnahan's "A-Team" is on track for a June 11, 2010 release, and Mr. T was previously asked to appear in the big-screen adaptation of the popular TV series. He declined, and now we know why.
Latino Review's George 'El Guapo' Roush recently talked to T, who mentioned he refused to be in the film because it wouldn't feel right to him, partly because his B.A. doesn't have a main role.

No Mr. T cameo in the new A-Team movie There is some extremely disappointing news coming out of Hollywood this holiday weekend for any fan of the classic '80s action series The A-team or it's beloved Mohawk and gold-chains wearing star, the legendary Mr. T. Latino Review had an opportunity to catch up with the bouncer-turned-actor who originated the role of B.A. Baracus on the popular series and he said that he will Not be making a cameo appearance in next summer's The A-Team movie. The actor stated that his decision had nothing to do with money as he had already made his mind up to not appear in the film before money was discussed. The actor said, "It just wouldn't be right" for him to be in it. He felt that if his B.A. isn't the main guy, then what's the point of doing it? He

Are you looking forward to the new, big-screen version of The A-Team? After some initial apprehension about a “remake” of such a classic TV series, I’ve found myself looking forward to it (particularly after hearing about the great casting choices, as well as seeing the first promo image) .
Second question: are you hoping for cameos from the original A-Team members, even though new folks have taken over their roles? Well, if you Are then you’re in luck on at least one front, as we already learned that Dwight Schultz – aka the original Capt. ‘Howling Mad’ Murdock – will be making a cameo. This led to speculation that we’d see both Dirk Benedict (aka the original Faceman) and Mr. T (aka the original B.A. Baracus) also making cameo appearances (sadly George Peppard, the original Hannibal, passed away some 15 years ago).
Well, there’s no word on whether Benedict will appear,

No Mr. T in 'The A-Team' Movie

Ok, so George Peppard is dead, meaning he's out of The A-Team movie update, but Dirk Benedict and Dwight Schultz have both confirmed their cameos in Joe Carnahan's movie. That leaves only Mr. T. I have long suspected he had more bargaining sway than the other guys and that eventually, T would have his payday. Nope.
Through a strange set of circumstances, George Roush aka El Guapo from Latino Review found out from Mr. T himself the real story. Bumping into the one and only Clubber Lang at a health club, the writer discovered that the original mohawk won't be back, and that it has nothing to do with money.

Mr. T who popularized B.A. Baracus in the classic TV series "The A-Team" will not visit the remake which will hit theaters next year. George 'El Guapo' Roush from Latino Review said that he personally asked the 57-year-old actor whether he would make a cameo in "The A-Team" and he said no.
The reason is not based on money but according to Roush, "He said it just wouldn't be right for him to be in it." Mr. T believe that the role does not have a major feature in the film and therefore him making a cameo and being included in the promotion will make the wrong impression that he would be a big piece of the film.
"He told me he has nothing against the cast or even the fact that they're doing a remake. But a cameo is just something he wasn't interested in. He said he's

Hippie Hippie Shake
Opens: 2010
Cast: Cillian Murphy, Sienna Miller, Max Minghella, Emma Booth, Lee Ingleby
Director: Beeban Kidron
Summary: Follows the love story of Oz editor Richard Neville and Louise Ferrier. Neville and his cohorts launch the London edition of Oz amidst the 1960s counterculture and are subsequently put on trial for distributing a sexually explicit issue.
Analysis: One of the most troubled productions in Working Title's history, 'Hippie' began development back in 1998 but failed to get beyond script stage both in 1999 and in 2002 when "Elizabeth" helmer Shekhar Kapur was attached to direct. Filming finally got underway late 2007 with director Beeban Kidron in charge and shooting seemed to proceed without issue aside from feminist author Germaine Greer being vehemently unhappy about being depicted on film.
Actually the film scored quite a bit of free press for a skinny dipping scene where full-frontal shots of actress Sienna Miller shooting the sequence

Bradley Cooper may have lost out on playing Green Lantern to Ryan Reynolds but he is stepping into another iconic hero role when he plays Lt. Templeton 'Faceman' Peck in next summer's big-screen remake of The A-Team.
If you recall the original 80s TV show, you'll know Dirk Benedict played Faceman back then - and he will have a cameo in the new movie.
Meanwhile, Cooper, 34, was this year in hit comedy The Hangover, which comes out on DVD and Blu-ray in the UK on Monday, December 7.
And to mark the release, a Hangover-themed party bus is touring the UK searching for the wildest confession of a night out and the most outrageous city. The tour includes two stops in nearby Birmingham.
The Hangover Bus will be packed with hangover cures, from the usual classics like water and energy drinks to the more unusual and underrated. It will be looked

Many of you know Sharlto Copley from his feature acting debut in District 9 (speaking of which, am I the only one crazy enough to believe that Copley should get some recognition for his performance come awards time, but realistically won't). Copley is playing Capt. 'Howling Mad' Murdock in The A-Team movie.
/Film tipster Jimmy Jab sent over this photo, which he claims features a cake Copley's mother sent to the set of The A-Team for her son's birthday (Sharlto turned 36 on November 27th). The cake features a photo of a young Copley who was celebrating his own birthday with a cake featuring Mr. T as A-Team member B.A. Baracus. How cool is that? Check out a photo of the full cake after the jump.

As much as we may hate to admit it, the early indications are that The A-Team is moving in the right direction. The casting for at least three of the key roles seems perfect, we know with Joe Carnahan directing it probably won't be as 80s campy, shifting instead to a grittier approach, and the van is back. About the only thing that can screw it up is TV cast member cameos.
Damn it: Dirk Benedict just revealed on Dirk Benedict Central that he will film his role in Vancouver. He follows Dwight Schultz, the original "Howling Mad" Murdock, in announcing his walk-on role. That leaves only World of Warcraft pitchman Mr. T...and I think you know what he'll say.

Original Faceman To Make Cameo in Carnahan's A-Team

It's always sad when when the crew behind the new TV project tries to get the old cast members to make cameos. The whole things seems like a desperate attempt to not only appease a fan base, but also, in some sick way, it feels like the offer is payment for ruining something that people used to enjoy. Unless the desired 70s TV star has been missing and presumed dead for the last 40 years, it's not really that interesting. The most recent project to do this is Joe Carnahan's The A-Team, which, earlier this month, roped in Dwight Schultz, the original "Howling Mad" Murdock. Now they have two out of three.
Much like how Schultz's cameo was discovered, the fan club of Dirk Benedict (via Cinematical), who played "Faceman" Peck in the original series, has confirmed that the actor will be making an appearance in the remake. In the film,
