• Anachronisms: Set in 1977, features The Evil Dead (1981) (released in 1981) on a theatre marquee. This is only viewable in fullscreen versions, as letterboxing corrects this.
  
  
• Anachronisms: The movie is set in 1977 but the IBM PC or XT computer in the office at Hollywood Studios wasn't released to the public until 1981.
  
  
• Anachronisms: The movie is set in 1977 but you can see an 83 spray painted on the back of the Hollywood sign. Students graduating high school in 83 would have been 12 years old in 1977 and thinking far ahead to paint their graduation year on the sign.
  
  

• Continuity: An early establishing shot shows the Hollywood landmark Grauman's Chinese Theater with Star Wars (1977) splashed across the marquee. However, a later scene shows the film The Right Stuff (1983) is actually showing. This goof is not visible in the widescreen version.
  
  
• Anachronisms: Although set in 1977, a character uses a 1983 Pac-Man novelty phone.
  
  
• Revealing mistakes: In a shot of the studios from the air, the name is misspelled across the roof of one of the buildings ("Hollywod Studios" instead of "Hollywood Studios").
